A landmark hotel in Scotland’s biggest, most vibrant city. Kimpton Blythswood Square has been a prestigious address since the early 19th century. Overlooking a private garden square, the hotel's Georgian townhouses were originally home to wealthy merchants and were later turned into the club headquarters for The Royal Scottish Automobile Club. Today, the Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel has been spruced up for the 21st century, with a multi-million pound refurbishment that has refreshed all of the existing guest rooms and suites with an elegant new look and the launch of the 1,900 sq. feet two-bedroom Penthouse Suite with its own private balcony, media room and dining area. The Hotel also hosts a 10,000 sq. ft. Spa facility with 9 luxury treatment rooms, a thermal suite, 2 relaxation pools, and a lounge and café area.

Arrived for a special birthday, room wasn’t ready and we had booked spa time for basically 10mins after check in, cleaning was still in progress apparently. 20mims later got access to the room and they moved our spa spot forward so we didn’t miss out on our time. The room itself Was nice and had a lovely view overlooking the square, however cleaning wasn’t great, drinks rings along the bath ledge and rubbish in bin. Our spa slot which you have to pay for over and above the cost of your stay was so disappointing, steam room wasn’t working which I feel we should have been informed of upon entering and given some kind of gesture as an apology considering the cost of the use, it just went downhill from there on, the rust situation on the mouldings and taps look terrible, it doesn’t feel like a 5 star treat that it should be. Bathrooms were just as bad, rust everywhere, dirty towels lying around and it just didn’t give a bang for the buck. Evening meal was lovely no complaints at all and we used our little voucher for a free drink for our room not being ready. The following morning, I discovered the coffee machine wasn’t working and so ordered 2 coffees, they both arrived Luke warm at best. Really disappointed in our stay and unfortunately won’t go back. It needs some tlc if it wants to advertise as 5 star.

My husband and I stayed here for two-nights during a recent 3-week trip throughout the United Kingdom and it was one our favorite places. From the warm welcome, delightful gin & tonic set-up waiting for us in our room, friendly staff, gorgeous setting, and helpful advice - it was all fantastic! Also apologies...it was a long trip and there were too many names to remember, so just know everyone there May 26-28th was amazing. :) After some stays in London that were far more "form over function" it was wonderful to be at a quietly confident establishment that felt like it knew what it was doing, including staff who had the time to interact with guests and seemed comfortable doing so. Indeed, staff at the Kimpton Blythswood displayed a delightful sense of humor, offered great suggestions (the concierge suggested Ben Nevis Pub for some traditional Scottish music, and we had the best time!), and made us want to return just to stay there again. Thank you!

My sister and I visited the hotel for a spa day and treatment and were excited after having looked on the website. The hotel itself is beautiful and had a lovely atmosphere. The spa was OK, but a little disappointing considering the cost. The spa facilities were a bit unloved - messy with robes and towels and empty glasses everywhere so we couldn’t sit down on any beds. The pool water was also unclean around the steps. At one point a staff member came to check the temperature of the water, walked past the mess, and didn’t tidy or mind it. The spa facilities and water were also SO warm. We had treatments, one was from Emma and we can’t remember the other therapists name, but both were exceptional (which is why we’ve rated 4 stars and not 3). Despite this, we wouldn’t return - it was overpriced and not a destination spa.

we had a lovely experience at the Kimpton in Glasgow. Large comfortable room. Lovely staff. Laurie brought up our bags and suggested a taxi rather than walk to our restaurant which was very smart! He has a lovely demeanor. Anton at breakfast was fun, efficient and helpful. Colin and Ross at reception were great too. Beautiful lobby, beautiful upstairs bar as well as tge restaurant bar. One if the best lattes I have had in a Scotland hotel. highly recommend!

What can I say! Another fantastic stay at this beautiful hotel with the best staff. A big thank you to David Nalleny for his great advice and service, John who looked after us so well and went out of his way to go to the restaurant we had my party at the night before to collect my birthday cake! Brilliant service. Steve the meet and greet man who looked after us so well and brought our car round to the front entrance ready to pack and go home. We can’t thank the staff enough! They really make your stay there so welcoming and happy. Room 218 is fantastic! The happy hour drinks served between 4/5 pm is a good chance to talk with other guests. We’ve stayed in a few Kimpton hotels, this is by far the best. Looking forward to returning soon. Thanks.
