About the Hotel

A landmark hotel in Scotland’s biggest, most vibrant city. Kimpton Blythswood Square has been a prestigious address since the early 19th century. Overlooking a private garden square, the hotel's Georgian townhouses were originally home to wealthy merchants and were later turned into the club headquarters for The Royal Scottish Automobile Club. Today, the Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel has been spruced up for the 21st century, with a multi-million pound refurbishment that has refreshed all of the existing guest rooms and suites with an elegant new look and the launch of the 1,900 sq. feet two-bedroom Penthouse Suite with its own private balcony, media room and dining area. The Hotel also hosts a 10,000 sq. ft. Spa facility with 9 luxury treatment rooms, a thermal suite, 2 relaxation pools, and a lounge and café area.

Reviews for Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel

Wonderful stay with Exceptional Service!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We recently stayed at the Kimpton Blythswood Square Hotel and had a truly lovely experience. We arrived very late at night and were given a smaller room overlooking an inner courtyard with some ventilation noise. It wasn’t quite what we expected, but the staff were incredibly polite and immediately promised to help us the next day. Even though the hotel was fully booked, they managed to find us a larger, brighter room and even moved all our luggage while we were out exploring — such thoughtful service! Every single member of the team, from the reception and breakfast room to the hotel entrance, was warm, professional, and genuinely eager to make our stay special. The hotel’s entrance and restaurant are absolutely stunning, and the overall atmosphere is both elegant and welcoming. We were very happy with our stay and will definitely return. And don’t miss the complimentary wine happy hour — such a charming touch!

Disappointed

The positives Staff lovely in all parts of hotel Room very comfortable and clean. Bed amazing and lots of space Location - very quiet but close to centre Some gripes No food available in restaurant after 9. Spa not available when you want to use it (it’s advertised as a spa hotel?). Only available to house guests at odd times. Bar is cold and unwelcoming. Breakfast buffet not replenished so lots of gaps by 9.30am Poor value

Luxury and Comfort 10/10

Just back from a lovely weekend, this was our second time staying and it was just as good. The service is always impeccable. Special shoutout to the guy working the bar on Sat 18th Night with longer curly hair and to Elaine in the Spa. The spa here is unlike any other - pure luxury.

This was a fabulous stay at the Kimpton Blythswood in Glasgow. The hotel is immaculate and the rooms are very large and spacious. The staff is so helpful and the restaurant is excellent. A great place to stay!

Good hotel/poor restaurant

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Great location. We were on a group tour, and the hotel was quite busy. Our room air conditioner had failed, and the room was hot. After calling front desk, staff quickly responded with a fan (which did not help), but did not offer to change rooms (perhaps hotel was full. All of the HOTEL staff were pleasant and friendly. The restaurant experience was not good. Food was mediocre, the wait staff was slow and seemed untrained and inattentive. For example, we were seated by staff and not given menus. Another couple were seated several minutes after us, but they had menus. After a while, staff took their order and we STILL had no menus. On another day at breakfast, we were there 1/2 hour before anyone asked if we wanted to order something. The breakfast buffet was only average. This restaurant badly needs an "on-the-floor" manager! There didn't seem to be anyone in charge. It did not live up to a five star rating.
