About the Hotel

Nestled on 1,000 acres of undulating Irish countryside, dotted with ancient woodlands and glittering lakes, Castle Leslie Estate is one of the last great Irish estates still in the hands of its founding family. The Leslie Family arrived in Ireland in the 16th Century and bought the Estate at that time. Today, this Irish estate is led and managed by Brian Baldwin and Sammy Leslie and guarded by The Leslie Foundation. Sammy considers herself to be a guardian of the land, and her overwhelming desire is to protect the Estate for future generations.

Another Fantastic Stay at this wonderful Place

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Another Fantastic stay at his wonderful establishment. This time we stayed in the Castle Itself. Well worth the extra that you pay. The staff are so customer focused it is second to none. The room, the food as always was excellent. There is not a bad word to say.We visited the Spa which is of the same standard. Looking forward to our next stay.

Just Okay

It’s a lovely setting and the grounds are amazing. But there is limited parking space and everything is all rushed. We were part of a wedding group and rushed into the castle even though we were part of the bridal party. Driving between the Mews and castle we were blasted on the horn to hurry up by the hotel transportation, when we had to stop for a minute. The Lodge decor is dated and needs updating in the rooms. The place is overly crowded with horse theme. Snaiffles was perfect and very comfortable. Food was very good. But Connor’s bar was rushed and tight. Food there was just okay, 6/10. I’ve had nicer. The wedding was in a beautiful setting, although there were simple things like when it got dark they didn’t turn on the outside lights. There were candle all over the grounds and outside lights, but people were just standing in the dark just outside the wedding marquee. People needed fresh air and were standing in darkness. The Castle Rooms downstairs are in need of repairs, I do realize it’s an old house but still. Personally I think CastleLeslie is all about the name and nothing more. Have had better service elsewhere.

Massive thanks to the team at Castle Leslie

We were at a wedding yesterday in Castle Leslie and I have to say it’s been one of the best experiences we’ve had in a long time. From the minute we arrived, the staff were on it... helpful, friendly and full of good energy. Marion and Jordan were something else! honestly, they were amazing. So funny, so full of life and really personal in how they dealt with us. Constantly checking in, asking if we needed anything and always with a laugh or a bit of craic. That kind of attention and warmth isn’t something you come across every day and it didn’t go unnoticed. Gareth, the supervisor, was great too calm, solid, and made sure everything ran smooth from start to finish. The whole team were switched on and working with a smile, which says a lot about the place. I don’t know if it’s our laid-back attitude or our body language, but we seem to really connect with staff at these venues lately... and it’s so nice when it all clicks like that. We've been to some great places recently, and Castle Leslie is right up there in my top five. The couple were relaxed, the guests were looked after, and we were made to feel genuinely welcome. Thank you to all the staff. We really appreciate the effort. See you again soon... And we will be back soon!

Fabulous location and grounds, actual stay not so good

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

A mixed bag for our 40th anniversary gift from family. The grounds are spectacular, we enjoyed 2 lovely walks and a browse in the castle. We stayed in the lodge, Our room during the night was stiflingly hot, the thermostat was confusing and unable to be changed, we learned later there is no air con it is a heating thermostat. We were unable to open windows to allow air in. In consequence we had an awful nights sleep. We ate in Connors, starters were delicious. The mains came with over crispy dry chips. The self serve part of breakfast was fresh with lovely choices. The cooked breakfast wasn’t so good, with overcooked eggs and bacon. The grounds made it special the rest not so good.

Mixed bag

A very mixed bag of the good and not so good. The good - food in Snaffles excellent, decent room albeit not in Castle, very friendly staff, good woodland walks with some view of Lough and Castle from a distance The not so good - chaotic arrival at the Lodge, with cars facing both ways parked on cramped roundabout; very difficult to get parked as wedding guests also looking for spaces; service in Snaffles very mixed - coffee served before desserts(??) and petit fours brought about fifteen minutes after we finished meal; biggest issue of all was that Castle was closed and completely out of bounds both days we were there (reserved for private functions) which greatly diminished the experience.
