This was probably my 5th or 6th visit to Grand Hyatt, and it continues to be one of our family's favourite holiday destinations. Over the years, we have created countless memories here, and my children have literally grown up enjoying the beautiful pools, spacious grounds, excellent hospitality, and wonderful food. What I appreciate most about Grand Hyatt is that the team genuinely cares about its guests. During our stay, a few situations arose that required intervention from the management. The senior staff listened patiently, understood our concerns, accepted them gracefully, apologized where necessary, and went out of their way to make things right. That level of professionalism and hospitality says a lot about a hotel and its leadership. The Sunday Brunch was outstanding, as always, and remains one of the highlights of any stay here. The property itself is beautiful, family-friendly, and ideal for a relaxing vacation. I particularly love the ground-floor poolside rooms, which add a completely different charm to the experience. For future visitors, I would suggest confirming two things before arrival: Whether buffet dinner service will be available during your stay. The current accessibility and arrangements for the beach area. These small confirmations can help you plan your vacation better and avoid surprises. Overall, despite a few hiccups, we had a lovely stay and left with positive memories. Grand Hyatt remains a place we look forward to returning to, and I hope to keep that relationship going for many years to come. Rating: 4.5/5

We stayed at Grand Hyatt Goa for our anniversary and left with very mixed feelings. The rooms were spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The resort grounds are beautiful. For our anniversary, the hotel provided room decorations and a cake which was a nice touch. I’d like to thank Mr. Elroy at check-in. He handled our arrival smoothly and personally coordinated the anniversary setup, which made the day better. The biggest problems were buggy service and the main restaurant. Given how large the property is, buggy transport is essential. During our stay, buggies were often unavailable and wait times were long. It made moving around tiring and took away from the relaxing experience we expected. The restaurant experience was far below Hyatt standards and, at times, felt disrespectful. The breakfast buffet had limited options compared to other Hyatts we’ve stayed at in Dehradun, Jaipur, and Lucknow. The difference in quality between buffet and à la carte dishes was also noticeable. Service was slow and staff often seemed unwilling to help. Even simple requests took multiple reminders. On one occasion we waited a very long time for basic tea service despite asking several times. The next evening, the floor staff refused to serve food at dinner. As a guest paying premium rates, being denied a meal and having to insist for basic service felt unacceptable and disrespectful. The only reason I’m not rating this lower is because of three people who acted professionally when others did not. Ms. Jenisha, the restaurant manager, stepped in personally whenever issues came up and resolved them quickly. Chef Anup Kawar was extremely attentive to my wife’s dietary restrictions during her fast and prepared her food quickly. On the night the floor staff refused service, Chef Anup stepped in himself to make sure we were taken care of. Their help prevented the experience from being a complete negative. We are grateful to Elroy, Ms. Jenisha, and Chef Anup for their care. However, management needs to urgently address staff training and guest respect in the restaurant, plus improve buggy availability. Without those changes, the service does not match the price or the Hyatt brand standard.

Grand Hyatt Goa: ## **Title: Beautiful Property & Special Anniversary, But Crucially Let Down by Restaurant Staff and Buggy Service** **Overall Rating: 3.5 / 5** **Restaurant Rating: 2.5/ 10** ### **The Good: Comfortable Rooms & Outstanding Support for Our Anniversary** Overall, our stay at Grand Hyatt Goa was very comfortable. The rooms were excellent—well-maintained, spacious, and the general cleanliness across the resort was highly commendable. A major highlight of our trip was our anniversary celebration. The hotel went out of its way to provide beautiful special arrangements, including lovely room decorations and a delicious cake. We are incredibly thankful to **Mr. Elroy**, who not only handled our check-in process seamlessly but also personally helped coordinate these anniversary arrangements to make our special day incredibly memorable. ### **The Dissatisfaction: Buggy Availability & Restaurant Operations** While the layout of this luxury property is stunning, the service delivery in two specific areas caused significant regret and frustration. First, given the vast layout of this resort, the **buggy service** is absolutely essential. Unfortunately, it was a major hassle. The lack of availability and long wait times became a consistent point of dissatisfaction throughout our stay. Second, and most critically, the **culinary offerings and restaurant management** require immediate attention. Having frequented numerous Hyatt establishments—including Hyatt Regency Dehradun, Hyatt Jaipur, and Hyatt Lucknow—I found the breakfast buffet selections at Grand Hyatt Goa to be notably limited and not up to the brand's standard. Furthermore, the food quality served in the buffet differed vastly from the à la carte options. ### **Severe Service Gaps at the Restaurant** The service frequency and responsiveness in the main restaurant were highly disappointing, with the floor staff consistently exhibiting a negative and unhelpful demeanor. Even basic requests were met with unnecessary friction. For example, ordering a simple cup of sweet tea required the server to "consult internally," leading to a ridiculous 25-minute delay despite multiple reminders. Things peaked during dinner the following night when the restaurant staff flat-out refused to provide food as expected, creating an incredibly stressful situation. ### **The Saving Graces: Individual Excellence Overcoming Systemic Failures** The only reason the restaurant experience deserves a 3/10 rather than a zero is due to the stellar hospitality and swift intervention of three specific individuals: * **Ms. Jenisha (Restaurant Manager):** Whenever major service issues arose on the floor, Ms. Jenisha stepped in personally to resolve them. Her proactive leadership was a sole mitigating factor in an otherwise chaotic dining environment. * **Chef Anup Kawar (Bakery Chef):** Chef Anup was an absolute savior for us. He took utmost care of my wife's specific dietary restrictions and went out of his way to arrange her food quickly while she was fasting. Furthermore, during the second night's dinner when the rest of the staff was refusing our requests, Chef Anup stepped in personally to ensure we were taken care of. ### **Conclusion** We left Grand Hyatt Goa with mixed feelings. We are deeply grateful to Eldroy, Ms. Jenisha, and Chef Anup Kawar for their individual excellence and care. However, management seriously needs to address the basic hospitality training of the restaurant floor staff and the efficiency of the buggy transport to truly match the premium luxury experience guests expect from the Hyatt brand.

As you step in you are surrounded by luxury. Amazing rooms, the sea facing ones, finger licking food, entoxicating cocktails, very friendly and cordial staff, the club lounge is relaxing, a nice walking path. The resort also has a palour and casino. Around 5 restaurants. My fav Goa destination
