The best hotel on the Gold Coast! The staff and pool were our favourite things during our stay. Will definitely be back

The hotel is not overstated but has a very nice feel about it. The Bar feels welcoming and comfortable and the Akora restaurant has a beautiful atmosphere and delicious food. We stayed in a Seaview room and the view of the beach was stunning. The only thing I would say is that whilst it was nice to dine in, it would be ideal if there were more restaurants within walking distance to the hotel, which is possible if you don't mind walking for 25 minutes into Surfers Paradise or in the opposite direction to Broadbeach. Other than that, we could not fault the hotel.

Overall this is a lovely hotel, the beachfront location is perfect and rooms are spacious with great amenities. The hotel is 5 star and priced accordingly, therefore I have high expectations. Service is a bit hit and miss, check-in was not great at all, not friendly in fact a bit of attitude, confusion over prepayment meant the clerk disappeared for some time before returning to confirm what I had told her. Other interactions with the front desk staff were better. Generally I found the Aussie staff (of any ethnicity-marked by their Aussie accents) friendlier and more helpful than the staff from OS (seemed mostly to be European), housekeeping staff I interacted with were universally lovely. The hotel is a lovely oasis in the middle of not much, therefore, I found the lack of dining options a bit disappointing unless you used private dining which has quite an extensive menu. The Palm Court menu was extremely limited which was disappointing and the salad advertised supposedly included avocado but not one scrap of avocado was in the bowl, again at the prices charged one should expect better. The only other option, Akoya a la carte (except for a buffet on the weekend) didn't have a lot of options, especially for the business traveller. Perhaps when the Asian restaurant reopens things will be better.

I was giving a gift voucher by my son to either use the spa or stay. Choose to stay and so glad I did. The hotel is wonderful, staff lovely and amenities stunning. Highly recommend.
