Reviews for Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach

Truly 5 star experience!

My friend and I recently stayed here for 1 week whilst I was attending a conference at the Convention Centre nearby. From start to finish, the service by the wonderful team at Sofitel Broadbeach was impeccable. At check in, we had Lucas, who was so very lovely and helpful. No questions/requests were too difficult, and he was very knowledgeable and helpful when asked how to get to the various attractions. He even helped us book the free shuttle bus to Harbourtown. Our room was on the 12th floor, with a balcony, which afforded absolutely beautiful views of the ocean. It was so relaxing to fall asleep to the sound of the lapping waves. The room was beautiful and clean, and the beds were very comfortable. They had the usual tea making facilities, fridge and a Nespresso machine. I particularly appreciated the empty fridge provided for our own use. Breakfast was at the Bistro on 3 on level 3, which was also where the pool was. The buffet breakfast was sumptuous and beautifully presented, with lots of choices. You can even order your choice of eggs (if you didn't fancy the scrambled option) and coffee/tea/hot chocolate of your choice. A special shout out to the manager of the bistro (I think her name was Van?) who made the effort to talk to all the customers, making them feel welcomed and taken care of. My only little feedback is that it would have been nice if they did change/varied the breakfast options a little. Of note, we also particularly appreciated the little special touches provided by the hotel, eg the provision of cold iced peach tea and water in the hotel foyer for hotel guests to quench their thirst. The location of the hotel was absolutely fantastic and unbeatable. It is close to everything you might want/need, without being right smack in the middle of the super busy touristy spots like Surfer's Paradise, yet easy to get there. There is the Oasis mall with various shops and a Woolworths supermarket right next door. There were lots of restaurants right at the doorstep of the hotel and best of all, the ocean/beach was just 5-10min stroll down the road. The Convention Centre was literally just 5mins walk across the road from the hotel. There is also a huge Pacific Fair mall 1 tram stop from the hotel (you can also walk there if you wish). There is a tram line right in front of the Convention Centre. Since there is only ONE tram line going back and forth, with trams every 7-10mins, it's super easy to jump on and go explore other areas like the more touristy Surfer's Paradise, which is only a few stops further afield. The tram stops all accept credit cards and it only costs 50 cents one way to go to Surfer's Paradise, or even further afield. All in all, I really enjoyed my stay at the Sofitel Broadbeach and I'd definitely stay here again. Many thanks to the wonderful team there!!

Lovely stay in the hotel, our room overlooked the river, great sitting on the balcony in the evening as the sun went down. Would have liked a sea view but would still stay there if we did not get one. Great location. Good breakfast, something for everyone. Staff friendly and helpful. Did not eat in the restaurant in the evenings so cannot comment. Swimming pool was lovely for a morning swim.

Sofitel this is Not is more an IBIS

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

This is not a Sofitel it’s a cheap brand on the Gold Coast This property does not live up to the Sofitel name or the standards of a true 5-star resort. In reality, it feels more like an Ibis or Mercure. The rooms are dated and tired, with worn-out furniture that has clearly seen better days. There is no minibar, no room service, and no executive lounge — all amenities one would reasonably expect at a Sofitel. Service is minimal and far below luxury expectations. Overall, the hotel and its offerings are extremely subpar, and it does not deserve to carry the Sofitel branding. Unfortunately, it diminishes the reputation of the brand by failing to deliver the quality and experience associated with Sofitel hotels worldwide.

Aging well In perfect location.

Great hotel. This hotel has a bit of age on it now but the ocean view room we had for 5 nights was great. Good beds, nice towels and high class toiletries . We liked access to a balcony and being able to leave the door ajar. The staff are very attentive, Hotel is perfectly situated for all types of different eating experiences and five minutes from possibly the best beach front on the gold coast. Icing on the cake for us was the eurocar rental desk in the lobby. Did I mention the fabulous buffet breakfast?

Great location for Broadbeach sitting above the Oasis Mall.m - supermarket, bakery, excellent dining options. Location to Surf Club and 5 min walk to beach. excellent whale watching early morning and eve during migration months. Sofitel staff were attentive and friendly. Room was well appointed … king ocean view suite. Breakfast was run of the mill. Plenty of staff and tables cleaned quickly. Would stay again.
