Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach

From the moment we entered the foyer of the Sofitel, Gold Coast, which we chose to spend a special occasion in our lives, we knew that it couldn’t be the Hotel it propounded to be. The poor taste of furniture reaching a climax of female Receptionist lacking in the famous Gallic welcome and facially glum warned us of what was to come. Our Room 2110 cost us a lot per day and we stayed 5 days at the Sofitel, Gold Coast. Here, once again, for the price we paid, the furniture was, what we call ‘laminated’, simply didn’t fit in with the famous French decor and what we expected from a Room for such a hefty price. The saving grace was the comfortable bed. Under the circumstances, we had to contend ourselves for ‘small mercies’! At the astronomical price we paid for 5 days, breakfast was not included. The TV was on when we walked into our room of sorts. On it were the words of welcome by Mat Andraws, the General Manager who ended his message with the words, ‘C’est magnifique’. The use of a few words in French did not compensate for the penury of the room. Altogether, the Sofitel Gold Coast, is not worth the money for what the high standards proclaims to offer. We say this because we have stayed at Sofitels elsewhere, Manila, for example.

Sofitel Broadbeach This is such a lovely hotel at which to relax with the highlight being the wonderful ambassadors who work there. From the lovely Roberta at reception on our arrival who was so efficient and accommodating. Thank you also to Lucas who came to welcome us along with Monica who provided us with a welcome champagne. Luis at the concierge desk was so helpful with booking the tennis court and answering any of our queries during our stay. Clearly the hotel places a high priority on the care of their guests and it showed wherever we were during our six night stay at Broadbeach. Our ocean view room 1907 was offered to us by Roberta which provided a glorious views over the buildings, beach and ocean just a short distance away. The room was beautifully appointed with a spacious bathroom with all that we needed. The spacious bedroom with a very comfortable bed, seating area and balcony made our stay a delight. The pool area was uncrowded during our stay with plenty of lounges and ample supplies of towels and sunscreen on hand to enjoy on the third floor. We even availed ourselves time in the gym and although small it was a clean and comfortable space. Once again it is worth noting that it is the ambassadors who work in a hotel that make a stay memorable. The Sofitel Broadbeach has an outstanding team working so hard to accommodate guests. We met some wonderfully kind staff during our stay. Sadly we did not get everyone’s names but hopefully management will pass on our thanks to them. It was lovely also to chat with the customer relations manager, Vianne along with Nadia, the housekeeping manger who were interested in how we were enjoying our stay and interested in sharing their stories with us. They were both so approachable and we appreciated hearing about their roles within the hotel as they too were interested in any feedback we might have to share. Each morning at breakfast we were greeted with warm smiles and a genuine welcome. From Vadim who remembered us each morning and knew where we liked to sit. Sami who always made such excellent coffee each morning and had such a lovely smile,along with Leone, Maha and Tracey who took such good care of us when ordering our coffee or omelette each day. Thank you! We will definitely return to this excellent hotel just for the staff alone!

The hotel is modern given its age and I was pleasantly surprised. Beautiful room and marble bathroom facing the beachfront. Secure access to each floor although the keycard is not locked by floor. Professional staff and quality service which was nice to see, good work. Easy check in and minimal wait time. Conveniently located near shops and the beachfront. Will definitely stay again should an opportunity arise.

I had a wonderful stay at the Sofitel Broadbeach on the Gold Coast. The location is absolutely ideal, right in the heart of Broadbeach, with easy access to shops, restaurants, and the beach. It’s also just a short drive to Home of the Arts, which made it perfect for catching a show or exploring the cultural side of the Coast. The rooms were clean, well appointed, and genuinely comfortable to relax in after a day out. If you're looking for a central, stylish, and welcoming place to stay on the Gold Coast, Sofitel Broadbeach is a great hotel.
