From the warmth of the welcome, to the wonderful bedroom and public rooms, to the excellent dinner and service, to the delightful packed breakfast provided to us due to our very early departure, Marlfield House is the epitome of what a great country house hotel should be. Genuinely dog-friendly, a top-ranking hotel that we’d love to go back to.

Needed a real lazy weekend away. This hit the spot, took one of the units by the pond and WOW it was just the tonic. We wanted for nothing. They even drive you back and forward if you have dressed up for the dinner. Used both on site restaurants on the trip and was very impressed. Food drinks and service was exceptional. Spoil yourself here and you wont be dissapointed.

From the moment we arrived for our overnight dinner with B&B this week I have to give this hotel one of the best reviews and highest ratings I have ever given any hotel at home or abroad. From the moment we arrived in this beautifully maintained country house to the time we left all of the staff from reception with Dawn and Shannon to the restaurant and bar staff (too many to mention) were exceptional, professional and so so friendly. The state room we stayed in was superb in every way. Our dinner in the Duck restaurant was excellent also and the grounds of the hotel are magical. We are already planning our return visit for later in the year. This hotel definitely sets the standard in every area for other irish hotels to follow. Colm and Pauline

We had the pleasure of staying at this magnificent house on a one night romantic getaway. From making our reservation with the professional and very helpful Alan, to the lovely warm welcome we received on arrival from Shannon, all the staff were excellent; very pleasant and polite. The ambience of the residence is exactly as one would expect and the comfort and decor of the rooms delightful. We enjoyed a relaxing stroll around the grounds. Our meal at the Duck restaurant was perfect with a large selection of courses and extensive wine list. Paul, the manager on the day was very pleasant giving thoughtful recommendations on our choices. We finished our evening in the bar where we were tended to by the very nice Philip. All in all a great experience which we would highly recommend.

What a beautiful hotel and only an hour from Dublin. We stayed in the Print Room and it was like no other hotel room I’ve ever stayed in. The pictures didn’t do it justice, it was like being in a museum, or being royalty! We stayed two nights so we were able to try both restaurants. The food was excellent in both and it was great to have this variety. Breakfast was wonderful too, as were the scones on arrival. The library bar was a lovely space to sit and escape the cold winter outside. Lovely cocktails too. I really didn’t want to leave, but I’ve resolved to return in the summer and look forward to seeing the beautiful gardens at their best.
