Reviews for Alhambra Palace Hotel

Amazing food and incredible views. Worth every penny and every stair you have to climb to visit the city! It’s a hike to get anywhere but you really cannot beat the views. One note, there is no coin laundry (despite many sites saying there is) only and expensive laundry service. That said, I’d return a million times to Granada and to this specific hotel.

Charming Historic Property

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Historic property super-convenient to the Alhambra with friendly staff, great character, great views, and great food. Definitely NOT a trendy, modern hotel, but still loads of charm, clean, attentive. If the Alhambra is a major part of your Granada visit, I’d stay here every time.

Beware!!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Warning!! We booked family of 4 (two rooms) on 5-25-25 for $480 per room. However, this hotel only gives 1 8oz water per person per day. We checked in around 3 pm and It was almost 90 degrees (very hot day) so we asked if we can get more water as we already finished the 2 water that we had in the room. But they advised that we need it to purchase extra water as they have 1 x 8oz water per person per day policy. I have been to many hotels but I have never been to a hotel that does not give extra water to their guest.

A grand old lady

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

This grand old lady is from a by-gone era. It is beautifully positioned to access the unmissable Alhambra Palaces and Gardens. While the public areas are impressive, the rooms are comfortable. They have been fitted with en suite facilities, but they are rather dated, and not generously sized. The staff were friendly and helpful. The dinner food was satisfactory but not excellent, the breakfast was good.

NOT A HOTEL FOR HONEYMOON COUPLES

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

We stayed here for our honeymoon in April and I would NOT RECOMMEND this hotel for couples on honeymoon. The interior and period decor is beautiful and we were very pleased with the food and drinks available especially the breakfast which was wonderful and the terrace dining area is exquisite. However, the bedrooms are very basic and they really let this otherwise fine hotel down. While this is an historic and period building, the bedrooms do not reflect this. The bedrooms are small, and at times it was even uncomfortable for two people on a long stay, the furniture is tired, faded and very unappealing. We had a reservation for 6 nights and when I saw the room my heart sank and I was so disappointed. This was our honeymoon and the only recognition we had from any of the staff over our entire stay here was a brief congratulations when we checked in. Given that we had such a long stay booked, was it too much to expect that a honeymoon couple might be offered an upgrade of their room for such a special occasion? During our stay, a high profile VIP lady stayed at the hotel with her entourage and it was crazy to see how the lady manager/owner was so attentive and focused on this guest yet she had no word of 'hello', 'how are you enjoying your stay', or 'congratulations' for us or anyone else that I saw, also other managers who saw us every day (as we spent time reading in the lobby or enjoying some drinks) never acknowledged or greeted us at any point. I was very impressed by the concierge staff, and also the wonderful Laura in the restaurant, she was absolutely wonderful and so so professional and humorous every day. Despite staying there for six nights, housekeeping never replenished our bathroom toiletries daily, not even the toilet paper! Each day I had to go looking for them. Yes there is a notice in the room saying if guests require additional toiletries to please call reception....how crazy is this for a five star hotel that these things are not automatically replaced?! Although our room had a balcony, with a beautiful view, the balcony itself was very old and rusty and I was not happy to spend time standing there. It was so small that it was not possible to sit there anyway and there was barely enough room for two people to stand there together. Yes this is a beautiful hotel with many excellent staff, I strongly suggest that management learn some customer service lessons from their staff who were far more friendly and welcoming than management was, and the staff treated all guests equally. The bedrooms need to be of a much higher standard to match the standard of this hotel overall and the in room product and services and toiletries for guests, needs to be addressed. It is not a hotel for honeymoon guests as this is not recognised or appreciated by the management and you do not feel special on your special occasion. I would not recommend this hotel for honeymoon couples, yet it is absolutely fine for other tourists or anyone on business or a regular holiday. I was so disappointed.
