Reviews for Alhambra Palace Hotel

Delightful stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Just returned from a delightful five night break at the Alhambra Palace Hotel. Check in was quick and efficient- room was ready. We stayed in a city view room with balcony. Our room was directly opposite the lift which concerned us initially however no need as there were double doors to the room and the lift was extremely quiet. The room was spacious with plenty of wardrobe space and lots of hangers ( always a bug bear with me having to ring down for extra hangers). No need here! The bed was large and comfortable with nice bedding. Bathroom was large with a shower over the bath - fine for us. Nice amenities refreshed daily. Breakfast was very nice and relaxed. Could be taken in the restaurant or on the air conditioned balcony and it was handy having plenty of toasters and coffee machines. We had some lovely cocktails in the bar / excellent service The location of the hotel was excellent for us. Very handy to visit the Alhambra and a short walk in to Plaza Nuevo ( bit of an uphill walk back but nothing too taxing) Staff have got it just right .. great service without any pomposity. I would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Granada

Beautiful Location, but Not the Five-Star Experience Expected

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I had high expectations for Alhambra Palace Hotel, as I was looking forward to a truly unique five-star experience in Granada. Unfortunately, while the hotel has many positives, it did not quite meet those expectations. The location is undoubtedly the highlight. Perched on the hilltop next to the Alhambra, it is incredibly convenient for visiting this world-famous attraction. The views from the hotel are also beautiful, overlooking Granada and the surrounding mountains. It is worth noting, however, that it is a reasonable walk down into the main town/ The hotel itself is attractive, but the overall experience felt more like a three- to four-star hotel rather than the five-star property I was expecting. The rooms and bathrooms were smaller than anticipated, and the facilities felt limited. I was also surprised to discover that there was no pool. While the hotel has been designed to capture the atmosphere and grandeur of the Alhambra, it did not quite deliver the unique historic experience I had imagined. Given the surroundings and expectations created by the setting, I think it is difficult for the hotel to truly compete with the history and beauty of the Alhambra itself. The biggest disappointment was the value for money. The pricing reflects a luxury five-star experience, but the overall facilities, rooms, and service felt closer to a four-star hotel.

Highly recommended

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Beautiful hotel in a very good location. Very convenient for visiting the Alhambra. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Appreciated the valet parking. We booked one suite for 2 nights - very spacious. Great views from the hotel generally- this does mean that you are high above the town so the walk up can be difficult for some although there are buses and taxis if needed. Very good selection for breakfast. Dinner was excellent as well.

Beautiful property but disconnected communication and service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

The property itself is beautifully located, but the service consistency does not match a 5-star standard. There was an accounting error where our prepaid room was accidentally charged again, which we had to correct upon check in, we should not have to audit our own receipts. Additionally, the front desk told us we had a 20% F&B credit, but when we went for breakfast the host informed us it wasn't valid. Once seated, the host handed us the bill just 15 minutes into our buffet meal, making us feel incredibly rushed. The hotel needs better internal communication and training.
