Old Bahama Bay

We could not have asked for kinder, more genuinely caring people. From the customs agent and the gentleman at the gas dock to the dockmaster, front desk team, and restaurant staff, everyone works incredibly hard and treats guests with patience and kindness. When my partner became ill during our stay, the staff went above and beyond to accommodate us by arranging a room at the last minute. The next day, several team members checked in to see how he was feeling, and they made it easy for us to depart earlier than planned when needed. That level of care and compassion is something we will never forget. We visited twice in June and had wonderful experiences both times. The location offers very convenient access to customs, and the exceptional service is what keeps us coming back. We are already looking forward to many more trips next year.

I live on Grand Bahama on an absolutely beautiful beach but had my parents visiting from abroad so decided to go for a Sunday drive to Old Bahama Bay, I was met at the gate by an extremely rude security lady who was convinced we were simply there to use the beach. I tried to convince her we were coming for lunch and drinks and she would not believe us and was kind of nasty about it, so much so that after driving all that way I told her to forget it and just left. My parents are elderly and myself and my girlfriend are in our forties, we were clearly not there to be rowdy.

Really not good. We left after two days and found an Airbnb. This was after changing rooms twice due to lack of water in the first and an active water leak. Then the toilet didn’t function in the second. When we got to the third room there was no microwave. Our daughter’s room had enough mold that it was making her sick. The property has potential. It just has not been well maintained and is definitely not worth the price. The beach was beautiful.

This place could be first class if it was cleaned up, but tons of weeds around beautiful landscaping and broken large paver tiles would be a good start. The water in the pool is cloudy which means not clean. The restaurant is ok and the waitstaff is delightful. There are so many wonderful amenities, but the whole place needs a good clean up.

This resort is entangled in an ongoing and lengthy legal dispute between the owner’s association and the management company. As a result the employees are caught in the middle. The dock employees are probably the least helpful. The pool bar and restaurant employees are surprising helpful and nice. The facilities are completely in a state of disrepair. It is obvious that there has not been any maintenance is many years. There’s only one reason to be at this facility and that’s if you’re boating back to the US from the Bahamas and you are waiting out a weather window.
