Very beautiful and modern hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

Lovely hotel in a great position overlooking the Reedy River. Felt very secluded with fabulous walks, but within minutes you could be in the middle of Greenville, a gorgeous town with an abundance of great restaurants and shops. We had originally been going to Ashville but, because the hotel there was closed due to damage caused by the hurricane, changed our itinerary to Greenville instead. Although sorry not to visit Asheville, Greenville more than made up.

Most disappointing stay!

We were in town for our granddaughter’s graduation from Furman. Room prices were about double to reflect the local graduations and events in town. It started at check in and went downhill from there. I was using my Amex platinum hotel collection benefit which allows noon check in. We got there at 4p but were told the room was ready but waiting for inspection. We went to the lobby bar to get a drink and wait for the room. But the bartender was preoccupied with an attractive patron and we never got service. At 5:15p I went back to check the room status. They said didn’t someone come tell you it was ready. NO! My profile requests a high room away from the elevator. So they put me on the lowest floor across from the elevator. They said it could not be moved. The food in the restaurant was mediocre and overpriced. They brought my bill with mine and someone else’s meal on it. I checked out on line and never received a final bill. When I called a few days later to get a bill the wrong restaurant charge was still on it and none of the meal and property credits had been properly applied. The reception supervisor told me that the valet charges were not covered by the property credit but he was wrong as he discovered upon checking. It may be the only hotel in Greenville that qualifies for this Amex benefit but we certainly wont do it again.

Way overrated!!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

Expected a luxury experience and instead were given a room with a horrible view of a roof and vents below us, were not given foam pillows as requested, and worst of all, a rocking toilet that never got fixed, after reporting it to the front desk who didn't seem to care. The staff was unfriendly, even directing us to a staff elevator rather than the guest elevator. We saw a huge and luxurious lobby, but were given no information about what the hotel had to offer. The only plus is our room was clean. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

On oasis in the middle of the city

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

Always a treat to be able to stay at this lovely unique hotel. You would never know you were in the middle of an energetic city. If you are lucky enough to stay in one of balcony rooms facing the river you may never leave your room. Take a stroll through the lobby and notice the unique fragrance. The art. The jewelry. Enjoy a drink outside in the wonderful breeze running through Spirit & Bower. Can’t wait to go back.

Majestic river view rooms

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

Every detail a bit of art. Statues, art, gemstones, and historical items bound. Rooms are amazing. Spectacular views overlooking Reedy river. Onsite restaurant and bar are top notch. Short walk to beautiful scenery from the Liberty bridge.
