Just over a year old, The Alpina Gstaad – part of the Legend collection of Preferred Hotels & Resorts – has already made its mark as one of Switzerland's most outstanding hotels. Located in the Canton of Bern in southwestern Switzerland, Gstaad is home to one of the largest ski areas in the Alps, brimming with gourmet restaurants, designer shopping, galleries and more. From the moment you arrive, the artistic luxury embraces you, with elements created from the region's own natural woods and raw materials, layered with fresh and modern textures. 56 rooms and suites all feature private balconies that boast views of the Bernese Alps, Gstaad village, and even the distant Les Diablerets glacier. Warm wood-paneled walls, classically carved ceilings, and rich leather headboards create an inviting environment, while plasma televisions, wireless Internet access, and 24-hour room service provide the contemporary comforts. Whether you are relaxing in your cozy abode, enjoying the year-round outdoor pool and indoor pool, or out hitting the legendary slopes, your time at The Alpina Gstaad is certain to be breathtaking.

WOW - 5+ stars!!!! We spent 3 days in the Gstaad area staying at the exquisite Alpina and can honestly say this hotel was hands down our favorite in the entire Switzerland (and we stayed at some nice properties)!! Definitely a must when visiting the area! The room was superb; the hotel team could not be friendlier or more helpful, and the room was amazing with a spectacular view of the countryside! The spa was amazing with a beautiful in-house pool and hot tub area. Unfortunately, the restaurants were closed so we had to go off-site for dinner, but the facility and team members made up for that! Our experience was so amazing my wife actually started crying the last morning! You simply cannot go wrong with the Alpina!

The hotel is located away from the town. It’s not really set up to walk. A fleet of cars will take you back and forth and is very efficient. The hotel is not really set up to ski either. It’s more to loll and spa. The spa is lovely, service varies but the reception ladies are lovely and go above and beyond. The rooms are dark and the light switches have a delay and seem to need to be updated. The style is dark. Hard to read in bed. The hotel is expensive, but I feel like it’s built for people who do not care. Really it is the best hotel in town as it is the newest. Concierge team is terrible. This really affected my rating of the property. They seem to have one man who knows everything and the rest of the team are awful. At this price point it needs to be flawless. A beautiful welcome set up in the suite, but was it an overall five star wow experience? For me no, but that’s not to say I will not go back!

As always we had a fantastic stay at the Alpina Gstaad! What truly made the difference were the personal touches. The staff remembered our names, paid attention to our preferences and made us feel genuinely valued throughout our stay. This level of attentiveness is rare and made the experience very special. Everything from service to facilities is top 5 star. I would recommend to try the restaurant Megu, which cuisine is outstanding. We will definitely come back and can highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Gstaad!

Amazing property within unique setting. Spent one week and loved the concierge recommendations - lovely and scenic discoveries and a culinary ‚wow‘! Megu was a thrill - great food and top-notch service. Will be back in sommer, for sure! Highly recommend the Gstaad-side rooms for the view.
