I travelled all over the world in many different hotels with all star ratings and this one is definitely up there with the best. There were a few glitches (e.g. not informed that the suitcase would follow in several hours so no option to change after my flight, be forgotten in the lobby by the receptionist checking me in, my excursion not followed up, etc.) I don't regret the experience one second. The rooms are spread out so you feel like you are alone in the world surrounded by beautiful greenery and wildlife. The rooms are beautifully decorated and comfortable. A chilled bottle of champagne waiting for you to sip with a view! One of the 2 evenings I had a lovely gentleman who did the turndown service and I had never seen such attention and care, it was just outstanding. The food is also excellent and generous. Having access to a golf buggy to go around the island is such a perk. Overall if you want some luxury this is the place!

The resort is beautiful, quiet and serene with a kind staff and prompt, friendly service. The breakfast is included and a real standout for me. The villas a well appointed.

Qualia was one of the absolute highlights of our Australia trip. Stunning views, beautiful and incredibly private pavilions, immaculate throughout, and some of the friendliest and most attentive staff we experienced anywhere. We loved having our own golf buggy to explore Hamilton Island, while the driver service made everything else effortless. Both restaurants were excellent, and Pebble Beach and the infinity pool are simply beautiful. The experiences made our stay even more memorable. We played golf on spectacular Dent Island, went on a fantastic boat trip with qualia’s crew to explore one of the surrounding islands and its Indigenous heritage, and took a helicopter flight over to Whitehaven Beach and the Great Barrier Reef – absolutely unforgettable. Even the wildlife was special: friendly cockatoos visiting during the day and hundreds of flying foxes crossing the sky at sunset. Despite being a true luxury resort, qualia feels wonderfully relaxed, private and never pretentious. Everything is exceptionally well organised and genuinely nothing was missing. Beautiful location, fantastic experiences and outstanding people.

Stunning & immaculate facilities. Our room/home was so peaceful and a perfect place to replenish. Turn down service is second to none.

We stayed for 4 nights. The views are breath taking especially when you first entering the lobby. The service from the time you land in Kingscote stands out. Your luggage is taken care of and you do not have to wait for it like other passengers. We were greeted by the general manager which was a very nice touch when you get to the lobby. In addition, we had an issue with our room that was a little alarming and I have to say that the response was exactly what he would expect from a 5 star hotel. Javier was instrumental in getting the issue resolved to our satisfaction. Not only did he show genuine concern but also quickly acted to fix the problem. Food options are slightly limited and there is not really a casual option unfortunately which I think would be a great thing to add to the hotel. Service can be slow at times, but I think the meals are meant to be enjoyed over longer periods of time. We took advantage of a sunset cruise that was part of the package through our travel agent and it was an incredible experience. The staff on the boat were incredibly personable and friendly. One of the things that was disappointing was the recommended snorkel tour. I do not recommend you book the Explore snorkel tour. Obviously visiting from overseas we do not really know which tour is good and really depend on the hotel to make a good recommendation. I think the hotel should reevaluate using this company for snorkeling in the future as they have significant problems with communication and overall experience. Given all of that, this is still a 5 star hotel for me. Hospitality staff like Javier more than made up for any shortcomings our stay had.
