On the secluded northern tip of Hamilton Island, and set in lush tropical gardens, qualia is a completely private hideaway that has been designed for your total secluded relaxation and true sensory indulgence. Each of qualia’s 60 light-filled pavilions faces the water, surrounded by lush tropical bushland within the resort. All pavilions boast the spectacular tropical bushland or stunning postcard views of the Whitsundays.

We stayed for 4 nights. The views are breath taking especially when you first entering the lobby. The service from the time you land in Kingscote stands out. Your luggage is taken care of and you do not have to wait for it like other passengers. We were greeted by the general manager which was a very nice touch when you get to the lobby. In addition, we had an issue with our room that was a little alarming and I have to say that the response was exactly what he would expect from a 5 star hotel. Javier was instrumental in getting the issue resolved to our satisfaction. Not only did he show genuine concern but also quickly acted to fix the problem. Food options are slightly limited and there is not really a casual option unfortunately which I think would be a great thing to add to the hotel. Service can be slow at times, but I think the meals are meant to be enjoyed over longer periods of time. We took advantage of a sunset cruise that was part of the package through our travel agent and it was an incredible experience. The staff on the boat were incredibly personable and friendly. One of the things that was disappointing was the recommended snorkel tour. I do not recommend you book the Explore snorkel tour. Obviously visiting from overseas we do not really know which tour is good and really depend on the hotel to make a good recommendation. I think the hotel should reevaluate using this company for snorkeling in the future as they have significant problems with communication and overall experience. Given all of that, this is still a 5 star hotel for me. Hospitality staff like Javier more than made up for any shortcomings our stay had.

Stayed here recently as part of our Queensland adventure, such a wonderful place, the suites are amazing, the staff can’t do enough for you & the food is lovely. Our only regret was only staying for two nights.

A really stunning property. My wife and I spent 4 days here and everything was perfect. The pool area and the reception lobby have the most stunning views. Will return

Stunning property, unbelievable rooms in a beautiful scenic location, would work on improving the food offering across the resort.

Had high hopes of a stay here having had many friends visit over the years. But really under delivered. The main positive was the staff at the spa- always brilliant and amazing treatments. But everything else is really seriously off the mark for what they market as a top end five star resort Service in restaurants very slow, service around the pool very hit and miss (think record was waiting 15 minutes to see someone so we can order a drink and on other occasions having to chase drinks three times). And the resort was at best a third full (can understand based on our experience why!) Limited facilities as well…. Tiny gym, no sauna, a steam room that is so brightly lit you need to wear your sun glasses, but don’t worry- the steam comes up from under the single bench you sit on, so you can’t actually stay in there long enough for the light to hurt your eyes as your knees would be poached before that happens! Housekeeping hit and miss, made worse that when you do call up to ask for two Nespresso capsules, 6 out of 7 times no one actually answered the phone anyway! Breakfast is a stingy offering. Unless you’re a fly, in which case you can freely munch on all the food as it’s uncovered. I’ve never seen a place use eyebrow tweezers to serve blueberries and strawberries, I guess in an attempt to prevent you from being in danger of having your five day. Anyway, you get the point…. Other reports have upped their game massively and qualia seems to have gone backwards big time
