We would strongly recommend staying in Hana at least one night (we stayed two and wish we would have done three nights in order to get a day solely for being at the resort). It allows you to break up the drive and do all the things you hoped to do without being exhausted the following day. If you do choose to stay, you can't go wrong with Hana-Maui. It was an exceptional stay: views, the pool, food, the staff, everything.

We stayed in one of the recently upgraded villas at the Hana-Maui Resort and our experience was amazing! The suite/villa that we occupied was one of the best vacation suites we’ve ever had according to my sons. And, they aren’t lying - from the view of the ocean and our neighbor cows to the pool it was a bucket list stay I didn’t even know I had! On the plus side, I was not expecting this resort to have air conditioning but because we got one of the recently renovated bungalows there was air-conditioning. However, perhaps most hilariously is that my boys thought the “magic toilet” was the best part of the room. We have friends who have bidets but this one was backlit and auto-opened and flushed for them. Anyway, the part of the experience I can’t capture in pictures was how amazing the staff at this resort was. They are not pretentious, but very down to earth, and yet embody the definition of first class service and luxury infinitely more than some of the other luxury resorts we stayed at on Maui.

Amazing classic simple luxury. Special vibe. Beautiful place. Amazing pool with sunrise/moonrise views. We were upgraded to a king bungalow as part of 80th anniversary package. Hanging by the pool and walking to coast to watch moonrise was incredible. Also cool cultural activities just a block away, there was a music/food festival, and so convenient to road to haha.

If you want to break up road to Hana stay here for at least a night so you dont feel rushed. The sunrise and sunset is simply beautiful! We did utilized their pickleball courts which is brand new. Not a lot of ppl using it so we drilled and played one on one lol. Breakfast food was really good especially the mochiko pancakes!
