Four Seasons Hangzhou at West Lake

Best hotel in Hangzhou. Bright , modern and welcoming with all the comforts you'd expect from a Four Seasons. Flower displays in the main lobby a wonder. Rooms large and spacious with great power showers and ferocious aircon that's welcome on a hot night. Reception staff helpful and efficient. Location superb - a ten minute walk from the front door to the lake but it's even better to take the electric boat from the dock by the old pool. The views from the boat on a good day are stunning. The hotel gardens are a joy. Watch out for the amazing bird life in the trees. One negative is the reservation system for the Michelin restaurant. They changed our dinner slot without telling us. As a result we had to head off to the Aman half an hour away to eat. Better coordination would have made our trip even better. Good breakfast although short on western staples.

I recently stayed at Four Seasons Hotel Hangzhou at West Lake, and what stood out most was the team’s professionalism in a moment that truly mattered. On the second day of my stay, I experienced sudden discomfort and wasn’t sure how to proceed. Manager Y. Huang responded with remarkable efficiency and sound judgment — arranging the necessary medication and medical support promptly. Equally important was the empathy shown to my wife, who was understandably concerned. The team handled everything with calmness and genuine care, with special thanks to Carina, whose kindness brought great comfort during the situation. As a frequent traveler between Hong Kong and Boston, I have seen many luxury properties — this was service at its finest.

Right at the doorstep of the West Lake this is a beautiful property with immaculate gardens that made morning walks all the better. The service from the team in particular is worth noting, we had an wonderful pre-arrival experience in which the highly experienced team (in particular Lulu & Amber) helped us arrange and manage our various activities and restaurant reservations during our time in Hangzhou. This was also executed faultlessly by our guide Forrest. If you can, definitely book the private boat experience which takes you off the beaten track of the West Lake - unsurprising that the area has inspired artists and poets from centuries past. Delicious Jin Sha restaurant which had already come highly recommended prior to our stay by friends but we were blown away with the most delicate Zhejiang cuisine. We'll be back in hopefully the not too distant future and cannot wait to continue discovering Hangzhou in its many seasons.

We had a amazing stay here. Both the Italian and Chinese cuisine are great, especially the Chinese. Also, any staff we encountered treated us so well and gave us the best experience. Special thanks to our room attendant Clark for the cute gift. We loved it!

Beautiful vintage setting, great food and amazing gardens. Not great value for money at the price point, Hangzhou as many options at one fourth the price which are great five stars for visiting the area.
