The hotel is very stylish. The environment is pleasant and the staff is very helpful and responsive. The breakfast definitely cannot be missed. The Jinsha restaurant is a nice place to enjoy fine dining.

Before I had a chance staying in this 11 years old hotel, I have heard quite a bit about it. It’s most expensive hotel in Hangzhou city, capital of Zhejiang province. Hangzhou is famous of the legendary West Lake which full of history , stories and tales. Indeed, this four seasons located right at a quiet corner of West Lake. The hotel provides standard Four Seasons service. From the concierge open your car door when you arrive and pick up luggage from trunk, to warmly check in and room walk-through, you can feel you’re back to a Four Seasons. The hotel built more than 10 years ago and use all traditional Chinese, specifically Jiangnan style building elements. The gardens are everywhere in hotel. Every corridor has one side full of glass wall with garden right outside. So greens and ponds everywhere and natural lights over all the corridor during daytime, which is a beautiful and unique design you don’t find anywhere else even in other Four Seasons. The hotel has a big garden with serval connected ponds, where a lot of pretty white/golden/red/orange fishes swim around. We stayed in a premium garden view room which is nicely decored and equipped. It is in winter so garden outside lack of flowers but still mostly green. We used gym and in-door swimming pool which is located underground level. Pool is large and water is very clean, I guess that’s because we haven’t see any other guest use it during our stay. The change room and surrounding kept very nice and clean. The breakfast at WL Bistro was medium level, nothing special except service still online. Due to the limited space of the restaurant, the buffet area was limited too and weirdly laid out. The staffs and chefs at breakfast works diligent and provide fast service. The menu items were good. Overall, Four Seasons Hangzhou at West Lake is a special, well designed and nice maintained hotel. Definitely worth a visit if you going to Hangzhou.

The hotel location is in the heart of West Lake District, just 2.4 km away from Lingyin Temple, which is truly excellent. With the beautifuly designed Jiangnan garden scenery inside, making the hotel a hidden gem compared to the larger West Lake. Under the management of General Manager Mr. Branham, the hotel provides really outstanding services. Penny and Chengyue at the front desk left a warm and hospitable impression during check-in. Chengyue noticed that I was bitten by a mosquito on my leg and proactively offered me herbal ointment to relieve the itching, which was very thoughtful. The next morning, I had breakfast at the West Lake Restaurant and was surprised to find that they served Cantonese dim sum from Jin Sha, which is a Black Pearl, Michelin, and also Asia's Top 100 Chinese Restaurant of the hotel. Chef Jensen provided friendly service, and the freshly made Bak Kut Teh, Eggs Benedict, and waffles were all very fresh and delicious. I highly recommend their semi-buffet style and quality. In the afternoon, I enjoyed a few drinks at the lobby lounge that served by the talented bartender William. His specially crafted Litchi Martinis and refreshing breeze cocktails were not only tasteful but also impressing with a special menu of 24 seasonal cocktails that inspired by the Chinese solar term culture. It is often said that Hangzhou is the heaven on earth, then Four Seasons Hangzhou at West Lake is like a refined small paradise within that heaven. It embodies classic elegance that remains timeless.

I've stayed in four seasons Beijing 3 months ago. So I can compare directly with four seasons Hangzhou. From hotel and from service it heaven and earth difference. Four season Hangzhou has the best hotel, view and even service. I can compare this hotel to mandarin oriental in Tokyo. Not all 5 star hotel has a 5 star service. There are so many 5 star hotel in the world but not all can give you a 5 star service. This Hangzhou four seasons definitely ace in all. They got the nice architecture, amazing view, fabulous service from the staff, the best restaurant with Michelin award. Really worth it to stay there.
