I was initially worried Capella Hanoi’s whimsical, theatrical design (from the online photos) might feel too busy for my eyes, but somehow it all came together beautifully. The hotel is stunning, full of character, and unlike anywhere else I have stayed. At this price point, hotels often throw in “complimentary” items but quietly cut corners. Not here. The minibar had quality brands, bottled water was not the usual cheap generic type, and even the bathroom slippers felt premium and thoughtfully designed. Small details matter and Capella clearly pays attention to them. Our arrival, however, was not the warmest start. Having to carry our own luggage up the front steps felt slightly odd for a hotel of this calibre. Thankfully, service after that was consistently excellent. The Living Room staff were genuinely warm and always encouraging us to try different drinks and snacks. The phone operators impressed me too — after casually mentioning at midnight that construction noise outside was affecting my sleep, they actually remembered and followed up. Justin at the gym was also fantastic. A special mention to Duty Manager Long, who genuinely tried to make things right after my feedback and upgraded us to what I was told was the hotel’s second-best room. Unfortunately, it still faced the same noisy road with overnight construction works, so sleep remained challenging. That said, having individual beds unexpectedly made the night more manageable! I understand the construction is beyond the hotel’s control, but I noticed we were probably not the only guests affected. For a hotel operating at this level, perhaps guests could be informed before or during check-in and given the option of a smaller room facing away from the road. Overall, despite the noise issue, Capella Hanoi still delivered a memorable stay. The design, thoughtful touches, and service recovery effort left a strong impression, and I would still consider returning — hopefully once the road works are over.

Absolutely incredible spa experience. We had a few couples massages during our stay, and each one revived us and more! Sunny and Tuoi are incredibly friendly, skilled, and gave us massages that we’ll honestly never forget. It unwound some tension and knots we had for years. Highly recommend.
