The pace of life at Centara Hotel Hat Yai practically operates in cadence with a credit card machine – located above the city’s leading Central Department Store, it’s also just around the corner from Gimyong and Santisuk markets, where local goods and fresh produce tumble out of street stalls. Indeed, Hat Yai’s identity is intertwined with commerce. Its proximity to the Malaysian border established it as an important trading post for generations, and there are goods here that can’t be found elsewhere in Thailand. Dining options at Centara also represent a collusion of cultures, and rooms are smartly designed to be respites from Thailand’s fourth largest city.

Booked Centara Hotel Hat Yai via Expedia for my family in January 2026 for travel in June 2026. Expedia advised 4 days before arrival that this hotel would not honour the bookings. Messaged the hotel and received no response, which is so rude. Now left with nowhere to stay and having to find somewhere. Would you want to trust this hotel with your booking? I will not trust Centara ever again

A bit rundown. Bathroom not so clean. Water pressure good. Aircond cold. Bed good.

The place was CLEAN, PROFESSIONAL, and CALMING. They provide full service, staff very attentive and polite. It was the most relaxing experience. Had full body scrub and massage. Worth it.

I spent two nights here and I must say that the hotel guest service was amazing, friendly staff and helpful. The location of the hotel is very convenient. For room, even though being outdated but comfortable. The breakfast buffet was excellent, many choices of food. I want to specifically thank Danial who is manager came to check on me and made sure my staying was good. He noticed that I had my grandson with me in the dining room. He surprised my grandson with a nice color book, made him so happy. I absolute will come back.

Stayed here recently for 4 nights as part of a week in Thailand. The property appeared reasonably clean with a grand entrance foyer and cocktail bar, however some of the carpets appeared to be a little dirty with some stains on them. We rarely saw people in the bar despite a multitude of drink "offers". The room we had was an average size with a smallish bathroom. The bed was very hard - however we would prefer this to being too soft. The photos on Trip Advisor never seemed to show the outside of the hotel, which is not surprising as it is not a very inviting looking building. The pool was okay to cool off, but looks significantly better in the photos. It didn't have the nice pool furniture as the photos show. The whole downtown area is still recovering from the recent floods, with some shops / hotels not having re-opened for business. There were a number of conferences in the hotel which some of the delegates explained were deliberate decisions taken by management to inject some money and good will in the local area. Delegates were also helping with recovery efforts out in the local community. In giving a 3 out of 5 rating I was very conscious of asking myself how much of things which annoyed me were down to the effects of the floods. The answer to which was not much. The building is old and uninspiring and despite the efforts of staff, our stay could only be classed as average to good. There appear to be newer hotels in the local area which may offer similar features at lower prices.
