We visited here for drinks and to have a look at the history of this hotel. The drinks are a little bit expensive but the atmosphere makes up for it. Music was good and the drinks went down well too.

We stayed here for two nights recently and had a really nice experience. It’s a beautiful hotel in a fantastic setting with a lot of history which is on show everywhere. The outside area for drinks and food is a spectacle itself, with music, lots of tourists taking photos and always very busy, even out of season with non guests coming to visit. The staff are great, they work very long hours but always smile and offer great service. The only negatives I would give are that the rooms are a bit tired. I appreciate there’s a balance between keeping the history, but there’s no excuse for paint and basic upkeep in the rooms. We also paid to be on the executive floor, which only later we realised this has its own check in/check out desk among other things. I think this should be advised more clearly to customers who pay for this premium as it really would have saved us a lot of queuing.

We visited this hotel for the roof top bar, sadly it didn’t open until 7pm so we had a drink in the gardens overlooking the sea. The view is spectacular, however the hotel is tired and is way past its best. There is no doubt that it was the place to be seen back in the day, the wall of fame showing who has frequented is certainly impressive, however investment is needed to bring it up to a 5 star establishment. The service from our waitress was lovely. Go for the views and a tipple.

This hotel is a very nice hotel, but it's very old and hasn't been renovated. The bathroom flooded the room. At the garden bar, they serve new whiskey as if it were old whiskey. The Cuban restaurant is bad, but the International restaurant is good.
