Marvelous Japanese Night in Miramar

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

My girlfriend and I shared a marvelous night in "La Bella Cubana" Restaurant at Melia Habana Hotel celebrating our anniversary. The mix between japanese traditional food, classic international japanese-style food and Cuban "sazon" was always present. The Restaurant has a really simple but pretty design where you can pick more sociable or private tables. Furniture is comfortable and music taste and volume were magnificent. The attention waitress Jennifer gave us was unique, close and friendly but professional and non-invasive at the same time. Chef Jorge was just wonderful, not just the flavor and presentation of all dishes we asked for (we ate 6 dishes each, we just couldn't stop eating), but he's presence around the hall always concerned about guests' experience and food taste. We will certainly come back and strongly recommend it.

Meliá Habana – Where Service Shines

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

My stay at Meliá Habana was nothing short of wonderful. The hotel combines comfort, elegance, and authentic Cuban warmth in a way that makes you feel both relaxed and well cared for. The rooms are spacious, very clean, and many offer breathtaking views of the sea. The pool area is truly a highlight, beautifully designed, with plenty of space to lounge and enjoy the sun. What stood out the most, however, was the service. Every staff member I met was friendly and professional, but Rocío and Rossmary were absolutely the best. Their warmth, attention to detail, and genuine hospitality made my experience unforgettable. They went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, and I truly appreciated their kindness. The breakfast buffet offered a great variety of fresh and delicious options, and the hotel restaurants provided excellent dining experiences. The location is also convenient, with easy access to both Havana’s historic center and the seaside. Whether for business or leisure, Meliá Habana is a perfect choice if you want comfort, quality, and a touch of luxury while experiencing Cuba. Thanks especially to Rocío and Rossmary, I would gladly return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Havana.

Very nice Hotel, centrally located in quiet neighborhood of Miramar. Reccommend to book in The Level Seccion. Very professional Staff. Special rewards to Yanitza from Customer Service and the rest of the coworkers.

Not a pleasant visit

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 months ago

We visited this hotel with excitement and left with disappointment. The hotel was very business-like and the staff not overly helpful. We suffered numerous power failures - one in the dining room where we were left eating using the light for our phones. We went to pay and they would not accept this to be added to our room charge and we were not permitted to use our cards on our phones to pay - it had to be physical card which we did not have on us. My husband left to go back to the room to get his bank card and was in the lift when the power failed again and now he was stuck. We waited 20 minutes but the power did not return. The cooling system in the lift did not return and my husband was now over heating and getting stressed (he is asthmatic!). I went to the front desk to ask if an engineer was attending and they were very dismissive and not really interested in assisting. I then stressed to the front desk that my husband was asthmatic and had breathing problems and was overheating and they finally sprung into action getting someone to assist. Whilst I was now getting distressed myself and still in the dark, I waited for the men to find out if they could get him out. They finally told me that he was ok and out on the next floor but, when I text my husband he was till in the lift in the dark and could only see the engineers phone light so not strictly true, he wasn't out! We waited nearly an hour and eventually they had no option but to force the doors open and pull my husband up out of the lift shaft by his arms as he was below the floor level (no H&S here!). He was out, hot and stressed and still had to find his card to pay the restaurant! We were not happy at all. The power failures continued and it was hazardous walking round in the evening in the dark. Restaurants ask for a physical bank card only to pay and were also expensive with not very helpful staff. Front desk were not very welcoming or helpful and all in all, we could not wait to leave this hotel. We will not return.
