Reviews for Montage Healdsburg

Magic!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 days ago

We attended a wedding at the resort and it was the most beautiful wedding/event I’ve ever seen. The attention to detail, the exquisite ambiance, service that’s so good you don’t even notice they’re there. I’ve been to over 200 weddings and this place is by far the most welcoming, uplifting, and naturally beautiful. I highly recommend Montage Healdsburg for anyone that wants a luxurious yet uncomplicated get away. Pictures don’t do justice to thriving beauty of the property or the villas set out in the vineyards with soaring falcons and hawks adorning the sky. It’s a very special place, go see it for yourselves!!

Exceptional

We went for a holiday getaway with family. All adults. It was excellent. We rode Ebikes, did archery with a guide, lounged and walked a lot. Food and wine superb. The rooms were wonderful and the bathroom was like having my own spa. Beautiful tub and products.

Beautiful property

Overall beautiful property. Annie at concierge and Christopher at Scout were two stand outs that made our experience! Views and resort grounds were amazing. The complimentary house car was a lovely perk. Enjoyed the pool, spa, and archery lesson! Loved having fire pit on balcony. Giving 4 out of 5 stars because I felt the service didn’t quite match up to our preferred 5-star Auberge property for dollar for dollar comparison. Hazel Hill dinner menu also a bit too exotic for our taste, which only left Scout bar or in-room dining for dinner options.

Service Level and Price/Night are Misaligned

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

There were too many issues with our stay to write here, so I sent them directly to the hotel. Here are the most notable. The rooms are fine, we stayed in a 1BR suite with a Mountain View. I'm not sure what mountain we were supposed to be looking at (our view definitely was not of Mt. St. Helena), but we were overlooking a subdivision. The rooms only have 1 recycling bin and it's located nowhere near where you make a coffee or tea which is very strange. They also only have those tiny espresso cups in the rooms which is infuriating - you have to call room service to have normal-sized mugs delivered. Sadly, when keeping the screen doors open at night, you can hear 101 from your room. We wore earplugs to ensure we weren't woken up. The food/bev was the worst part of this stay. I have a dairy allergy and none of the menus state which dishes have allergens and that's likely intentional as there are maybe 5 dishes across all 4 of the restaurants that don't have dairy. They are very inflexible when it comes to making dishes without allergens (i.e. use oil instead of butter). My favorite moment was when one of the few dishes that didn't contain dairy on Friday and Saturday randomly included dairy on Sunday. Luckily I smelled it before I ate it, but I truly cannot understand what their chefs were thinking. They also ran out of non-alcoholic beer and sparkling water for the entire weekend. I asked for a sugar-free non-alcoholic beverage and I was offered a Diet Coke? I genuinely couldn't believe that a Diet Coke was their only option for a "sugar-free" drink by the pool. The food is simply not good quality - not even slightly comparable to what you'd expect to eat in Healdsburg, especially given the price point of each menu item. Despite all of this, Alex at the pool was wonderful and super helpful. He was the one redeeming factor in the quagmire that was their pool service. I did have an excellent facial with their new Yumi machine and my aesthetician was wonderful. The day before I had a massage that was so terrible/ineffective I genuinely wanted to end it early. They massaged my knee caps and the bones on top of my ankle? I was very specific about my problem areas and none of them were attended to. It was bazaar and NOT worth the cost. I'm not sure who their typical guest is, but it is not for the discerning traveler in my opinion. There are better hotels with better food and service in the area.

Exceeded expectations

Amazing property and service. They just really thought of everything and executed at a very high level. From valet to housekeeping the service is flawless. Breathtaking property and the casitas make you feel like you live in a vinyard. Perfect soaking tub and amazing four on the balcony perfectly sets the spa/romantic vibe
