Architects David Baker, Wendy Tsu and landscape architect Andrea Cochran brought the modern oasis that is Hotel Healdsburg to the historic Healdsburg square. Punctuated by trellises, sunlight, grapevines, intimate patios and French doors for a breezy indoor-outdoor flow, the layout invites you to meander, glass in hand. At this four-star luxury destination, sustainability extends from farmer-sourced ingredients to indigenous gardens, all nestled between the acclaimed wine regions of Dry Creek Valley, Alexander Valley and the Russian River Valley.

Hotel Healdsburg is a perfectly nice hotel — but at $700 a night, “nice” doesn’t cut it. Let’s be honest: this is not the Four Seasons, though it certainly charges like it is. The so‑called “extras” are laughable. A few free snacks and a bare‑bones turndown service? That’s the level of thoughtfulness you’d expect at a midrange boutique, not something commanding luxury resort prices. These gestures might be worth $25, maybe $50 on a generous day — nowhere near the premium they’re asking. What makes things worse is the guest‑unfriendly policy. A seven‑day cancellation requirement at this rate point is preposterous. True luxury properties understand flexibility is part of the service. Here, it feels more like a money grab than hospitality. In the end, Hotel Healdsburg is charging champagne prices while delivering sparkling water service. At $700 a night, you should expect more than “nice” — you should expect exceptional. And exceptional is exactly what this hotel is not.

Beautiful setting, building, bar area, and room. We stayed the night and unfortunately the Dry Creek Kitchen was closed so we did not dine. The room was quiet, clean, and very comfortably and tastefully appointed. It was our anniversary and the staff ackowledged us genuinely and there was a complimentary bottle of bubbly in the room (much appreciated).

The staff was friendly, the room was comfortable. The concierge suggested the perfect restaurants. The breakfast was convenient and very good to start our day.

Hotel Healdsburg is a lovely hotel. Well located within the town so you can walk to everything. We had a corner room that was quite spacious, well stocked with amenities, and a comfortable king bed. We appreciated the complimentary water (sparkling & flat), chips, and cookies. The vibe of the hotel is California cool, very comfortable and warm. Very friendly service from all staff but concierge Charmaine deserves a special shout-out. Charmaine is a rock star! She arranged a private winery tour for us at the last minute, and made excellent restaurant recommendations. Charmaine's service really enhanced our experience in Healdsburg. Don't hesitate to ask her for suggestions and advice.

The hotel is well situated for walking around the town of Healdsburg. The room was comfortable, but it was a little dark and industrial feeling. We sat by the pool, which is nice but nothing too special. There were a bunch of plates with food leftover and empy drink cups sitting there the whole time we were there. Nobody came by to ask if we needed anything. Supposedly, the pool is heated, but it felt really cold to me. There was a boy in the pool who was being loud and annoying, splashing the water, while his mom was on her phone the whole time. Luckily, they left, and then I was able to have a short nap! The hotel staff couldn't have been nicer, so overall it was a good, not amazing, experience.
