About the Hotel
Hotel Ranga is a lovely Scandinavian hotel located in Southern Iceland, perfectly located in a vast and panoramic scenery. This hotel ideal for viewing the Northern Lights and taking in the beautiful nature of the arctic, such as Glacier Lagoon or Mount Hekla Volcano. Hotel Ranga also offers guests a unique fine dining experience as well, with culinary twists on traditionally Icelandic dishes. There is an on-site observatory and from September to April, a local astronomer guides guests through a tour of the dazzling night sky.

Highly recommend Hotel Rangá for your Icelandic stay
We stayed here over a couple days in December and we have no regrets. Great location that is accessible to areas like sites on the Golden Circle and down towards Vic. Love the restaurant - dinner was fantastic and breakfast offered so many choices. Wake up calls for the Northern lights were great and part of why we chose the hotel. So many cozy places to tuck away to play a game or enjoy a cocktail when winding down at the end of the day. So much attention to detail and loved getting the Yule lad gift bags each morning!

One night with familly
The family decided to go to Hotel Rangá to experience accommodation and Christmas dinner. It was especially pleasant to come at this time and we have done so for many years. All the service was excellent and the experience in the hot tub, great food and music at the end make this visit memorable

Best Hotel we visited in Iceland
The staff is amazing. The room is so inviting and best night of sleep in years. Seeing the Northern Lights was a dream come true and no better place to fulfill that dream.!!

Perfect place to stay for Northern Lights and South Coast sightseeing
Hotel Ranga was the perfect place to stay to see the Northern lights over Thanksgiving. Their wake-up call service was reassuring so that we knew when to go outside and that we were not missing anything. The dark sky in this location made the view of the Northern lights extra special. It was also easy to sight-see along the South Coast and even into the Golden Circle. Staff members were friendly and helpful and made our stay very pleasant.

The very best...
First night last night, Was absolutely brilliant ! So enjoyable and warm !! Great staff, great bar, owner/manager was a delight. Even saw the lights on the first night. Spend the money and enjoy it Nick (room 29) Cheers
