Thus hotel is stretch out as a series of rooms along the tundra . Rooms are big enough for a king bed and a couch. The back door opens out to the tundra and the river. There are outdoor hot tubs, but one needs a certain amount of agility to get to them and get in and out. The restaurant was exceptional with local choices presented well. There is no tipping; any tips are donated to charity. That said, it is expensive, luxury pricing, but it is a once in a lifetime place.

Interesting hotel - we booked two economy rooms as we were traveling with our teenagers. The hotel was like a lodge - very small outdated rooms. It’s very quaint, but was not our style for the price we paid. Breakfast was good, service was good, however you are paying Four Seasons prices for a lackluster experience. The weather card and requested turn down service with chocolates were a nice touch, but we were expecting better more relaxing accommodations.

We stopped into the restaurant here for breakfast when on the way back from Vik > Reykjavik and was perfect. Is about £20-25 for breakfast. You get a cooked main (omelette etc) and use of the breakfast bar which also includes champagne. Very friendly staff. Lovely vibe. Check out the big Polar Bear in the entrance!

We wanted to splurge for a big anniversary and booked two nights in hotel Ranga. It was by far the most expensive stay we had in Iceland and we are travelling there for more than 30 years, more or less every year. The room was clean and everything worked. But not worth this more than 600 Euros a night. Quite outdated and also a little worn. The service was very friendly and attentive, breakfast buffet really great and also the food in the restaurant in the evening was great. So overall: service and food really worth to go, the rooms not really.
