About the Hotel
Hotel Ranga is a lovely Scandinavian hotel located in Southern Iceland, perfectly located in a vast and panoramic scenery. This hotel ideal for viewing the Northern Lights and taking in the beautiful nature of the arctic, such as Glacier Lagoon or Mount Hekla Volcano. Hotel Ranga also offers guests a unique fine dining experience as well, with culinary twists on traditionally Icelandic dishes. There is an on-site observatory and from September to April, a local astronomer guides guests through a tour of the dazzling night sky.

Classy, beautiful Hotel!
We ended our Golden Circle tour by staying two nights at hotel Ranga. The staff is first class, the restaurant is outstanding -second to none, the bar area is fun and the grounds are beautiful. -Also loved breakfast options! We had 3 couples on our vacation. Rooms 1,3, and 50. Room 50 is a large suite with a rotating floor. Room 1,3 are perfect for couples. #3 had a jet bathtub. East access to the waterfalls: -Skógafoss and Seljalandsfoss -50 minutes to black beach and Dc-3 plane wreck. -Great bakery on the way, Faxi -Hiemamenn, Good spot for lunch as well Hotel has hot tubs but no access to thermal springs. Loved it! I want to go back!

Fantastic hospitality and location
A beautiful hotel on a picturesque river. Restaurant is top-notch with the best part is interacting with the owner, Fredrik. Couldn’t recommend this hotel highly enough.

True Luxury. Worth every penny.
True luxury. Granted, we stayed in the master suite, so my review is based on that. It’s truly the best hotel room I’ve ever stayed in (just beating out the Peninsula Hotel in Shanghai). I don’t want to give away the secrets, but it’s epic. A lifetime memory for our family. When the kids are grown, my wife and I will return for more. It exceeded even our loftiest expectations!! Every member of the staff seemed to take a personal interest in our comfort. From check in to breakfast, the service was top notch.

Unique Luxury Hotel in Iceland
There is so much to love about Hotel Ranga. It is luxurious, but also rustic and fits nicely into the remote setting. The food was fantastic. The dining room and bar area is charming. We loved using the different game rooms. The kids loved playing pool and chess after dinner. We loved the location as a launching point for adventures in Iceland. We visited the ice caves and black sand beach. We also ventured into near by Thorsmork Valley to view glaciers and spectacular scenery. We really enjoyed the outdoor jacuzzis after long days of adventure. The northern lights viewing was phenomenal!

Perfect experience
Everything was just perfect, the hotel itself is really beautiful and clean, the staff is very nice and the food at the restaurant super delicious. Having the owner attending and speaking to guests at dinner gave a nice touch to the experience
