One&Only Portonovi sits at the entrance of the wild and beautiful Boka Bay, a sheltered idyll on Montenegro's Adriatic coast, surrounded by spectacular mountains. The nautical playground is adjacent to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Kotor and a 238-berth superyacht marina and helipad. Portonovi is designed on an impressive scale to reflect the architectural style of the old Venetian palaces of the region including grand facades, majestic colonnades, signature red terracotta roofs, gardens and an extraordinary array of indoor and outdoor pools. A private sandy beach will rival the finest of the Mediterranean. With cuisines from around the world served in captivating atmospheres, some of the finest restaurants in Montenegro are found right here at One&Only Portonovi. Delight in wholesome Mediterranean fare, simply prepared and delicious. Share tantalizing Japanese bites by the pool, vibrant and fresh. Or feast on an array of heart-warming Adriatic dishes, created before your eyes.

After our spring holiday, we decided to head to Montenegro. The only hotel we seriously considered was the One&Only Portonovi, especially since Aman properties don’t always come across as child-friendly. The big questions for a luxury trip like this are always: is it worth the money, is it a proper five-star experience, and how does it stack up against other One&Only resorts? The answer to the first two questions is a resounding yes. However, a quick tip: make sure to book a ground-floor Bayview Room. These rooms give you direct access to the pools, which beautifully extends your beach days. We actually started in a second-floor Garden Room but found it too noisy due to its proximity to the music from Tapasake, the property’s Asian restaurant and day club. Having stayed at four One&Only properties now, I’d rate this one as their second-best worldwide—just behind their phenomenal Mauritius resort. What we loved: * The Service & Dietary Care: The attentiveness to our dietary restrictions was amazing right from the start. Our host took note of everything the second we walked in. * La Veranda: The hotel features four restaurants, and while all are good, La Veranda was our favorite. The Montenegrin cuisine, local meat dishes, and overall variety were excellent. My advice is to skip the standard dishes you can get at home and try the local meats. * The Bayview Room: It offered great views and worked out perfectly for our family. * The Spa: It felt absolutely massive. I can't remember the last time I saw an indoor pool this big. * The Local Staff:** The staff from Montenegro were truly wonderful, offering a highly sophisticated level of service throughout our stay. I am not going to complain about the people from other parts of the world, but I think they did an exceptional impression in their work where service and hospitality came to them with ease. * Tansfers & Excursions: Everything was clearly laid out and well-guided. We booked transfers to and from Dubrovnik, which went smoothly. My only minor critique is that I expected the Dubrovnik transfer to feel a bit more "One&Only"—while our driver in the Mercedes V-Class was great, it lacked those extra touches of luxury and attention to detail. * Kids Club: Friendly and good, though not quite on the level of Hotel du Couvent in Nice, which remains our benchmark for amazing kids' clubs. What could be improved: * Excursion Booking & Safety: Booking our boat trip felt a bit disorganized, as different staff members showed us different boats. More importantly, One&Only should ensure all partner boats carry life vests for every passenger, including children. When we asked about this, the boat crew just told us, "Don't worry, it's a new boat." I doubt our travel insurance company back home would find that reassuring! * Beach Cleanliness: On our last day, a lot of plastic and waste washed up on the beach and in the water. Guests shouldn't have to point this out for it to be cleared; the hotel should be proactive about keeping the beach pristine. Overall, I highly recommend both Montenegro and this hotel. The service was fantastic. It easily takes the number two spot on my personal One&Only leaderboard—right behind Le Saint Géran, but ahead of Cape Town and Dubai.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had an absolutely wonderful stay at One&Only. To celebrate my birthday, we were upgraded to a stunning villa and welcomed with thoughtful treats that made our arrival extra special. The villa was beautifully designed, offering both privacy and comfort. It was fully equipped with everything we could possibly need, including a well-appointed kitchen, comfortable bedrooms, laundry facilities, and many other thoughtful amenities. The service throughout our stay was exceptional. Every member of the staff was professional, attentive, and genuinely caring. Every request was handled promptly, courteously, and always with a smile. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, with a wide variety of high-quality options. The restaurants were outstanding, offering excellent food along with professional, personalized, and welcoming service. The heated pool and private beach were simply fantastic and exceeded our expectations in every way. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing vacation experience. This was our second stay at One&Only within the past year, and we are certain that we will be returning again. Thank you to the entire team for another unforgettable stay!

Had my first visit to Montenegro recently and stayed at the Wonderful One & Only Portonovi which is situated on the bay of the Adriatic Sea a Stunning Setting! Nice warm welcome and check in and showed to our room. The room was amazing one of the best i have stayed in anywhere in the world and the bathroom the best with even a couch in it. The beach and pool area are lovely. Very spacious with helpful and friendly staff and lots of them. The breakfast was 10 out of 10 with a great choice and some lovely local dishes. Service also very good and lovely to sit outside. The only downside are the prices they charge at the restaurants and around the pool which in my opinion are way over the top. €8 for a scoop (not big) of ice cream is crazy! Also we were invited to the 5th Anniversary Garden Party of the hotel which was lovely and the hotel went to great effort. No beer though but just about every other drink was available. All in All fully recommended and plenty of restaurants to eat close by in Portonivo. I must also fully recommend the concierge. We dealt with a gentleman who was very helpful and gave us great advise.

New favourite hotel in Europe! The location is great, the staff are friendly and attentive, the design of the hotel is sleek, and the room is breathtaking. The food is also very good on the whole. Special shoutout to Jimmy by the pool who was brilliant during our stay. Will definitely return.
