Was very unimpressed by the club at Cotton mill. We only stayed for one night, the room with breakfast rate was £339 but to add the Club at Cotton mill pushed this up to nearly £900. we are used to staying in some of the top hotels around the world and so didn't think this was extortionate for what is described. However I can honestly say the club is very underwhelming and far too busy for a relatively small area compared to other spas and top end hotels. Unfortunately for us this is a 3 star hotel, masquerading as a 5 star. The staff are lovely and very helpful, the rooms are small but well appointment - except for the very tiny cheap televisions e.t.c. food was lacklustre but lovely drinks menu. The gardens are nice but nothing to shout about again. Honestly, the club at cotton mill probably should be included in the room rate based on our experience. We should have listened to our friends, and the other reviews and just booked the standard room rate, used the basic cotton mill spa and booked elsewhere for a full club experience.

We dined at Omboo which we have done several times before and as always we were not disappointed. The food was fabulous and the service was excellent, especially from our server, Clara who was an absolute delight and made our evening even more special.

After returning recently for a second visit my wife and I were both excited. However, there were several incidents where we felt really let down and dissatisfied by the whole level of service and professionalism. It would take far too long to go into detail because I already replied to an email I received from the hotel asking for feedback. When I did I received no response and so got back to them acknowledging it was unprofessional not to receive any form of reply. When I did I just got a very token gesture response. Very poor. In summary, there are good aspects like breakfast but our whole experience was let down my a number of issues…room not being made up by housekeeping. No draught beer at all. Waiting a long time to check in. Two tier spa system…we weren’t told about this. It costs more when you get there. £120 pp a day extra. Purchasing a bottle of prosecco and being told by the waiter after he’d placed it in the ice bucket to wait drinking it because the bottle was still warm. It never did get cold. Total waste. I could go on. I don’t mind paying a lot of money to get value for money. I didn’t feel like I got it this time at Sopwell House.

We came to dine as a family in Omboo tonight and the food was wonderful, the restaurant has a good atmosphere, clean and quiet environment. The food was exceptional. Also Clara is very patient and kind when taking our orders.
