Sonesta Resort Hilton Head Island

The amenities were great and me and my family loved the direct beach acess and 3 pools. Sonesta also gave you free beach chairs and a choice of 3 restraunts and a cafe and a gelato shop.

Every staff member we encountered, Kimar, Dahah, Keemo, Odane, Felicia and many more provided the best customer service with the most positive attitude. They truly felt like family by the end of our 6 night stay. We were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary with our two dogs, and felt like we were at a tropical resort. The adult pool was so relaxing we both found ourselves dosing off in the pool! The family pool was also great, we loved the poolside bingo every afternoon. It was obvious that the recreation manager took a lot of pride in her job, I’ve never seen someone work so hard. We did a bike ride to Coligny and it was an easy trip. We also did a sunset dolphin cruise through the Salty Dog, which I HIGHLY recommend. The hotel has been recently updated and was perfect, not one complaint, and I’m picky. To reference other reviews, I heard maybe two dogs barking the whole time and that was outside, I saw no dog poop on the sidewalks, and the pool bar and staff were amazing!! My only recommendation would be to have more vegetarian options on the late night menu. Already looking forward to another trip!!!

We just stayed at Sonesta Resort Hilton Head and I must say our anniversary trip was MAGICAL! We come to Hilton Head as it is our favorite place in the world, and one of the biggest reasons is the people that work here on island, the locals are the kindest and purest people I have ever encountered. FRONT DESK: Vanessa, (THANK YOU!!) helped me with my reservation and was so detailed and helpful with all of my questions! She was kind enough to make notes and get everything ready for us stress free. She is so comforting and assuring! Her wonderful gesture to upgrade our room to pool view and to our surprise there were chocolate covered strawberries and champagne when we arrived in the fridge!! Jeine, was so helpful when we extended our stay an extra day!! They were so comforting, assuring, informative, and downright so sweet to us. I have never encountered such wonderful hospitality except on this magical island. RESTAURANT, VALET, AND OTHER EMPLOYEES: THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart!! We had many wonderful servers, especially during breakfast, a younger gentleman who I didn't get the name, Ben, Kimmiel, and the Valet staff (there was an older gentleman who I didn't get the name) were so kind and always greeted me with excited smiles and we would talk about our day or the next days' plans!! Everytime I left to do something and come back, I was most excited to run into them. Everyone was so genuine. I loved the PJ'S coffee our server brewed for us with his wonderful comment that it was specially brewed with his magic touch and he was so genuine and kind. Ben was also the sweetest and he just makes your heart melt. The employees of this resort are soooo special and the kindest most warming hospitality you can encounter here in the south! Or let alone anywhere we have traveled to, and we have traveled a lot! We have stayed at other places on HHI, with wonderful hospitality but the people who work here along with the wonderful layout of the resort is what will keep me coming back and excited to see everyone again! Sonesta HHI, your employees make your resort so special to us! They totally won over our hearts.

Very decent resort for Family. I think the room that i had was slightly underrated for price. Terrible view and mattress super soft and could hear and feel the springs...Also booked through 3rd party and required to pay addtl resort fee. Not angry but add in budget. Overall property was nice. Beach was walking distance and nice. Really enjoyed it. Restaurants on site of course are pricey, but to be expected. No water, coffee or tea in lobby. A bit surprised. In room machine and coffee needs to be changed! Terrible. Although animals are accepted they weren't roaming all around resort and it was clean. Not bad at all...Not sure if I'll revisit but definitely not bad..

My complaint will not be an issue for everyone for obvious reasons. This was our second time vacationing at the hotel and will be our last. When I vacation at the beach, like most people I want sun, sand, ocean, and serentity. I did not get serenity at the Sonesta, because everytime I walked into the lobby I heard multiple dogs barking all the time. There was so much barking, I thought I was in a kennel instead of a hotel. If you are ok with hearing dogs barking all the time then this is a no issue for you.
