We stayed two nights at Thanda Safari Lodge and loved the place, the people, the food and the enormous suites! Although the weather was not very favourable (rain), we had some great game viewing with our very knowledgeable ranger Ephraim and tracker Ronny. The food was delicious and the employees were all lovely and truly dedicated.

Just had the most amazing 4 night stay at Thanda safari lodge. The lodge itself and the accommodation is gorgeous, but what really makes this place is the people. Everyone was welcoming, attentive and no personal touches were missed; whether it was the barman remembering my boys’ love of virgin strawberry daiquiris; the cheerfulness with which the night porter woke us up at 5am (or walked us back to the room multiple times when my youngest inevitably forgot something!), or the chefs and waitresses accommodating our menu or location tweaks! The biggest shout out though has to go to our wonderful guide and tracker. Yes, the bush was kind to us and all big 5 came out to play, but what really made this so special was Garrick answering the boys’ questions for about 6 hours non-stop every day… we couldn’t have hoped for a more knowledgeable and enthusiastic guide. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

We took a 3-day tour and had the time of our life. We were very lucky to get Christian as our guide. He was so knowledgeable and so nice he made us look forward to our next drive. Our tracker was Zakes who was excellent. His infectious smile and keen knowledge of where to go caused us to see so many great animals. After one of the drives we went to the spa and got a massage. It was excellent! Each morning, afternoon and evening the chef came out and described what he/she had prepared for us. Each meal was Outstanding! Our room-OMG, you “gasp” as you walk in. It is gorgeous with your own pool and observation deck in the back. This resort is A+ and great place for both couples and families.

A must have experience! We spent Christmas at Thanda Lodge, a total of 3 nights with the most incredible guides Buse and Senzeni - what a honor, made us really fell like a family. We are really thankful for all the amazing staff, they were unbelievable nice! From the waiters, bartenders (Seb, amazing he taught us a little bit about Zulu culture and the best beer ever - South Africa’s Black Label) and the amazing reception that we had with Sia, we couldn’t have chose a better place to spend Christmas! We couldn’t recommend it enough!

Really nice stay at Thanda. The tracker (Thuba) and the guide (James) really stood out. Their enthusiasm were infectious. We really got lucky with them. They had tremendous knowledge of the wildlife and the birds. Food was delicious and got the trip to South Africa off to a great start.
