Reviews for Park Hyatt Saigon

our fourth visit, and not our last

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

We enjoyed our 7-night stay at Park Hyatt Saigon, our fourth visit to the property. It continues to be our go-to hotel in Saigon for its excellent location, food, beautiful design, and elegant ambiance. Despite being in the middle of a bustling city, the moment you walk into the hotel, everything feels tranquil. We booked our first night in a standard king room through AMEX Travel and our following six nights directly with the hotel so we could use a WOH suite upgrade. As the hotel was fully booked on our first night, we stayed in the standard room for one night before moving into a beautiful two-bedroom suite for the remaining six nights. The suite included a kitchen area and had a city view on the same side of the hotel as the main entrance. It was a wonderful amount of space for our longer stay. We also appreciated the very generous welcome amenity.  Breakfast continues to be one of the highlights of the hotel. There is an extensive buffet with breads, pastries, fresh fruit, and hot dishes, along with a separate menu where you can order additional dishes. We also used room service during our stay, and the food was good and arrived quickly. The location is excellent. The hotel is within walking distance of numerous restaurants, sights, and shopping, making it very easy to explore the city without needing transportation for every outing. There are also many restaurants right in the area, so your dining options are endless.  Service throughout our stay was professional and consistent. After four visits, we continue to appreciate the combination of the hotel's setting, design, food, and overall atmosphere. A property in such a central location that feels so peaceful once you step inside. We would happily return for a fifth visit and expect Park Hyatt Saigon will continue to be our preferred hotel when visiting the city.

unprofessional and disrespectful

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

I am a customer who has been using the Dine in Park membership card and maintaining my membership for approximately 4–5 years. Because I have had a positive experience with the program over the years, I have chosen to renew my membership again this time. However, I am quite disappointed with the way the sales staff handling my consultation has acted on this occasion. Due to my busy work schedule, I had discussed and arranged with the sales representative to meet in person to complete the renewal payment. During the consultation process, the staff was still communicating with me, but later they suddenly unfriended me and completely stopped responding, without any explanation. I consider this to be an unprofessional and disrespectful way of handling a long-term customer. If, for any reason, they were unable to continue supporting me, I believe a clear notification or a proper handover to another staff member would have been a more appropriate approach, rather than unilaterally cutting off communication with a customer. I sincerely hope that Dine in Park will look into this case and provide a clear response regarding the staff’s conduct, as I do not wish for a long-term customer like myself to have such an experience when continuing to renew the service. I still value Dine in Park and the experiences I have had over the years, but I also hope that the quality of service and customer care will be consistent with the trust that long-term customers place in the brand.

Good food, okay stay but not up to the hype

I find the Bun Bo Hue and Pho in morning breakfast were very good as a local. However, the room was outdated and rundown. Attention to details needs improvement

Park Hyatt Saigon — 2 Nights, First Time Stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 weeks ago

Not a Hyatt member (I’m IHG Platinum Ambassador and Marriott Platinum), but booked this one through the Amex Platinum Fine Hotels + Resorts program — Park Hyatt falls under their 5th category with $600 in annual credit ($300 semiannually). Ended up paying just $63 for 2 nights with breakfast included, plus a $100 property credit and 4pm late checkout. Hard to beat that value. First impressions: Landed after a 5-hour flight from Japan and checked in close to midnight. First thing I noticed — a musty, humid carpet smell from the lobby elevator all the way to my room. The elevator sign claims hourly disinfecting, but the smell was pretty noticeable late at night. By morning it seemed masked better, maybe by the lemongrass and citrus scent they diffuse through the hallways. Room: Twin beds, but the room itself felt small compared to what I’m used to at Sheraton properties. I was told at check-in that I’d been “upgraded” to room 422, but that turned out to match my original booking category exactly — so more of a room assignment than a real upgrade. Worth knowing that upgrades here are subject to availability and not always what they’re presented as. Overall the hotel leans into a French colonial, minimalist aesthetic — well kept on the surface, but look closely and you’ll spot wear and tear in the bathroom grout. The one thing that genuinely got me: After 4 weeks bouncing between Vietnam and Japan eating nonstop and dealing with the inevitable digestive backup that comes with it, I finally needed relief — and discovered that a supposed top-5 luxury hotel in Saigon doesn’t have a “BUM-GUN” in the bathroom. For a hotel at this price point and prestige level, that felt like a real miss. Checkout confusion: Despite being told at check-in that I had a guaranteed 4pm late checkout as part of my FHR booking, the front desk called to ask when I’d be checking out — which felt like it undermined a benefit that should’ve been noted on file. Minor, but for a hotel operating at this level, these details matter. What redeemed it: Breakfast was excellent — a la carte menu with both small and regular portion options, nice touch for flexibility. And the real standout was the Tamarind Amaretto Sour at Lam Son Bar — hands down the best cocktail I’ve had anywhere in Vietnam. Bottom line: Beautiful on the surface, great value through Amex FHR, but the carpet smell, the checkout mix-up, and missing bidet knocked it down a notch. Would still return for that cocktail alone.

Stunning and Classy

This is one of the most beautiful, elegant and classy hotels I've ever stayed in. It comes at a slightly higher price point but totally worth the splurge when visiting Vietnam. Still much cheaper than what you'd spend on this caliber of hotel in the US. Complimentary use of the steam room where I was served tea and a ginger and lotus, easy check-in, beautiful rooms, great location. The breakfast buffet was delightful as well, try the pho and banh mi. Will return on my next trip to Vietnam!
