We spent one night following a river cruise. Positives: We were given an early check-in, which was very much appreciated since it was raining when we arrived. Lobby staff were very friendly and helpful, from check-in to helping load our luggage into a Grab car. Location was good for walking to restaurants and some sightseeing (once the rain stopped) Great city views from the pool area. Room and bed was comfortable Areas for improvement: Water pressure in shower was weak Air vent in room was dirty (everything else was very clean) Pastries in the to-go breakfast (due to early flight) were not particularly good Spa seating was not accommodating to larger bodies and I was treated very different than my thinner spouse. He had a great experience during his massage. When I arrived for mine, I was told I needed to pay in advance (he paid at the end) and while he got the deeper tissue massage he requested, mine barely applied any pressure and often used only one hand at a time. This was the most disappointing massage I received in Vietnam.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day stay at the Sofitel Saigon Plaza in Ho Chi Minh City. As we were arriving early in the morning we had booked from the night before to ensure we had access to our room straight away. On arrival at the hotel, after our flight from Australia and airport transfer (arranged through the hotel) my Platinum status was recognised immediately and we were invited to check in at Club Millésime. Tony from Guest Service Relations escorted us there and facilitated our check in while we had breakfast in the lounge. Tony noted my preference for a walk in shower on my profile and while a room with one wasn’t immediately available he provided us with an interim room so we could shower and change. We then went to the pool and while there Tony came and advised us our new room (with walk in shower) was ready and gave us the keys. We had a lovely chat and told Tony on our trip in Vietnam we would be celebrating our wedding anniversary. Tony surprised us with a lovely cake in our last night of our stay. Fantastic client service by Tony. To be honest we found all the hotel staff friendly and engaging. As a Platinum member we had access to Club Millesime and the staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Food and drinks at Afternoon Tea and during Drinks and Canapés was excellent. Thank you to Marcus, Astrid, Evelyn, Brian and Chef Tao. Also to Nhi (so sorry if I have this name wrong) who rang before my stay to check on allergies. Marcus also recommended The Barbaard - a barber shop/cocktail bar. We attended Happy Hour there and had wonderful cocktails and mini tacos (yum). We also had our complimentary drinks at Boudoir. I spilled my drink and the staff replaced it for me - wonderful client service once again. We also had food and drinks at the pool (lovely pool and surrounds) and the friendly staff once again made sure we were well looked after. Oh and the breakfast in Mezz - superb. We are returning after our tour and are really looking forward to it.

We spent three nights at Sofitel Saigon to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it turned out to be a truly memorable experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel special with a lovely welcome cake, thoughtful messages, and a very good bottle of wine from the management. Although there was a construction site nearby with jackhammers, the staff handled our concern with great care and professionalism. We were quickly offered a quieter room on the other side of the building, and to our delight, it was upgraded from a junior suite to a full suite. Breakfast was an absolute highlight; by far one of the best I’ve had in a long time. The croissants and pastries were outstanding, and the buffet offered a wide variety of fresh, high-quality ingredients. If I had to make one small suggestion for a hotel that proudly celebrates its French heritage, it would be to include goat cheese on the breakfast cheese selection, as we had seen at the Pullman Saigon. The ST25 restaurant, which also hosts breakfast, was another wonderful surprise in the evenings. The flavours were refined and memorable, leaving us talking about the dishes for days afterward. We also enjoyed the daily high tea in the executive lounge, a charming experience with sweet treats that changed each day. The location is central, close to many consulates, and while the atmosphere is a little calmer than the Pullman, everything we needed was just minutes away with Grab. A special thank you goes to Mr. Marcus and his excellent team: Astrid, Evelyn, Brian, Huong, and Chef Thao for their constant attention, care, and warm hospitality. They made our anniversary celebration truly exceptional. We look forward to coming back!
