Arrived at the hotel and taken straight to the Club Millesime for a smooth check in. Our corner room on the 18th floor had amazing views of Ho Chi Minh City including the Landmark 81 and Bitexco Tower. Also received a lovely greeting in the room of 3 chilled beers and local snacks. Club Millesime access provides you with all day refreshments and snacks and in the evening from 6.00 - 8.00 cocktails alongside a selection of hot and cold food. Breakfast is buffet with a large and varied selection including banh mi, dim sum, noodles, rice, congee, pho and the usual bacon, sausages and eggs, pastries and fruit juices. Our usual table was always reserved for us. All staff were so wonderful and delightful to chat with. Rooftop pool was amazing but some days got too busy so unable to get a seat.

There are many aspects of this hotel that we would rate as exceptional, but what truly sets it apart is the consistently high standard of service delivered by every member of staff, across all areas of the hotel. Importantly, we observe this same warmth and attentiveness extended to all guests - not just regular visitors or VIP clientele. Vietnamese hospitality is already renowned for its genuine warmth, gentle nature, and willingness to please. However, the team here, under the guidance of executive management including Alistair, Estaban, and Eban, elevate that hospitality to another level entirely. Guests are made to feel genuinely valued, comfortable, and able to fully relax knowing they are being exceptionally well looked after. What also impresses us is the way the team thoughtfully cater to guests of all ages, often without any request or prompting. This was especially evident during our recent stay from 2–10 May, when we travelled with our grandson. He was absolutely delighted, and thoroughly spoilt with thoughtful touches including his “Little Prince” accessories, a ride-on toy, and other age-appropriate gifts and activities. It was such a treat for us to watch him enjoy these extras and, truthfully, even the adults enjoyed them too. Thank you to the entire team for creating such special memories for our family. The rooms are immaculately presented, dining options are plentiful, and the rooftop pool area is a standout, with refreshments and bar menu available, and a view overlooking the city. In summary, while there are many lovely properties in central Ho Chi Minh City, this hotel consistently exceeds expectations and, in our view, will not disappoint. Warmest regards - and can't wait to be back! Tapsell Family

Stayed this week at Sofitel Saigon Plaza and had a rather mixed experience overall. The positive side of the stay was definitely the service from the reception and bell service teams. The staff were helpful, welcoming, and always willing to assist, which I truly appreciated throughout my stay. The room itself was spacious and functional in terms of switch accessibility and layout. However, the condition of the room felt quite dated for a Sofitel property. The bed quality was disappointing , the mattress felt worn out and shrinking, some parts of the linen were torn, and the pillows felt old and uncomfortable, which made it difficult to get proper sleep. One thing that also surprised me was the lack of a power outlet beside the bed. Having to charge the phone on the work desk instead felt inconvenient and unusual for a hotel of this level. Housekeeping service during turndown also lacked warmth and personalization. Staff simply knocked, handed over two chocolates, said “chocolate for turndown,” and left without even greeting the guest properly. It felt more procedural than luxury hospitality. Breakfast was another area that did not meet expectations. The selection was quite basic and lacked variety. I recently experienced breakfast at the JW Marriott Café in Saigon, and the difference was very noticeable. Some of the bread and pastries at Sofitel seemed stale, and the croissant in particular was disappointing. Overall, the stay felt average. There was no real “wow” factor that made the experience memorable, especially when compared with properties like the Metropole in Hanoi, which delivers a much stronger luxury identity and experience.

This hotel is very central and the staff are amazing. The hotel is very nice with a lovely rooftop pool and bar. Two things really blew us away. First we had an issue with our room and had almost no sleep. We asked to be changed first thing in the morning. No pressure or questions - we had a new room within 40 minutes and our bags delivered - brilliant. The second thing was the breakfast. This has to be the best in any hotel we've ever stayed in. To top this off the restaurant in the evenings is a Mitchlin Recommended. We had the most awsome food. We did feel rather conspicuous though as, after 24 hours travelling e really were not dressed for the occasion! Highly recommended. And we love the lady going round with croissants table to table in breakfast.
