Reviews for Anantara Hoi An Resort

A fantastic retreat!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Had a honeymoon and stopped at the Anantara for 2 nights. What a lovely retreat this hotel was! We wished we could stay for 2 more! Close enough to the center of the town we enjoyed walking along the river and found a great tailor nearby. The staff were so friendly and did their best to accommodate us despite the hot weather. We loved the pool and the spa. There was amazing local art displayed around the hotel and we later bought a piece from the artist who had a gallery across the way. Overall a wonderful couple of days. Thank you Anantara for making our stay memorable :)

A must stay hotel, in perfect location and lovely overall hotel!

Lovely, waterfront luxury hotel. The staff is a stand out at Anantara. Our check in agent, Huy was a steward for our entire stay. We decided to upgrade to waterfront (a must) and helped us through the entire process. The waterfront benches with cushions and pillows allowed us to hang out and watch the evening boats and the light show. Just spectacular. And the spa is just lovely. I had many treatments with Uyen, and she made my experience just lovely. Highly recommend her facials!

Fabulous Resort!

Anantara is an excellent resort, a wonderful place to stay. This was our third stay there and we plan to return again next spring. It’s a resort where guests are treated like family. It’s also a wonderful hotel with the best location in Hoi An, right next to the Old Town. Its restaurant (the Hoi An Riverside Restaurant) is A+ with really good food and service while dining outdoors (or under a roof if desired) on the romantic riverside. Its rooms are very comfortable and clean. The spa is incredible with unbelievably good massages. The Anantara is on the water so boat rides and tours are easy. We look forward to our return.

Best Place to stay close to town

We love the Anantara and have stayed here many times over the years, we would not stay anywhere else. It is close to town but such great respite to return after walking through the old town. Breakfast is alway a treat here and we also ate at the restaurant on 2 nights of our 6 night stay. Food was good and service is always top notch. We look forward to staying here on our next visit. PS Art Space do a fabulous pizza which we enjoyed by the pool.

Good location, shame about slightly disinterested staff

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

We had two nights in the Anantara resort Hoi An and whilst it was by no means awful, I couldn't honestly say it was exceptional, either. Reception seemed a bit uninterested and in fact at no time in the two days did anyone refer to us by name. The room was ok, if a little dark, with an unappealing balcony by the entrance door and average, not luxury, fittings. In fairness, the gardens are well kept and attractive, the pool area pleasant and there are views of the river from the other side of the hotel, though sadly not from our room. Breakfast in the restaurant was pretty mediocre buffet fare and the breakfast box provided for our early departure went in the bin. All of that said, it has a great location. The centre of Hoi An is a five minute walk away and if you want an alternative to the hotel breakfast, there are literally dozens of coffee shops a gentle stroll away. The request for a tailoring recommendation worked well as did the dinner recommendation. Overall, by no means awful but the competition for great hotels in Vietnam is hot. Great location no doubt but let down by some not especially engaged staff and slightly tired rooms. Could be great with a little investment in training and decor.
