This hotel has a really good location in Hollywood. Nice lobby/reception area. The room itself was small and dated, especially the bathroom. Beds were nice and firm, but pillows were quite flat. Our room was missing an armchair, so we had to request for one - this was strange for us. Breakfast was an additional cost and expensive with limited variety. We decided to buy from the market downstairs instead, which was a bit more reasonable. Parking was at the next door building and there's no discount for guests. Guest services were attentive and prompt. Premium wifi Internet fees were expensive.

Overall good experience. I could not give 5 stars because I don't think the resort fee is justified and there was an issue with our room. What I liked: fluffy warm bathrobes, magnifying mirror in the bathroom, comfy beds, room ready for early check-in, ability to text for hotel services, excellent location. What I didn't like: We booked through Expedia a King standard room inputting that we were a party of 2 adults and 1 teenager. The description said occupancy 3 instead of "sleeps 2 with max occupancy of 3". We had assumed a sofa bed when we see occupancy 3. When we checked in we were told all of us would have to sleep in the king bed. BUT we could upgrade to a room with a sofa bed for another $50USD per night. I was too tired to argue because the Lillian the check in person said this is a problem they frequently have with Expedia. After a good night's sleep I decided to check the Loews Hotel own website and they have the EXACT same description which we felt was misleading and not Expedia's fault as they have the exact same description on their own site and if this was a frequent issue, they should fix it and make it more clear for their customers. The manager Fadi, gave us 6 vouchers for their breakfast buffet (priced at $35USD per person plus 20% gratuities and taxes). We were satisfied with this; we would never normally pay this amount for breakfast. They have a warm swimming pool, no hot tub. The hotel is connected to a small mall called Ovations, the Dolby Theatre and the Chinese Mann Theatre. You can get to all these places without going onto the sidewalk area. Some rooms have nice views of the Hollywood sign. The metro station is right at Hollywood Blvd and Highland and just a quick walk from the hotel. There is an exercise room. All the ellipticals were out of service. Thanks to Jayro for the late check out. We took the metro from the hotel right to the airport (with free shuttle to the airport from the last station by LAX). The cost was $1.75 per person.

We arrived at around 9pm after a long day travelling and spent 30mins queuing for check in. Not a good start. Once we reached the front of the queue we were told that the two double rooms we had booked were not ready. How rooms can be not ready that late in the day is hard to fathom. We were offered two rooms which each had only one king size bed in. Or we could wait another half an hour for our actual rooms to be ready. We were tired and fed up so took the two king size bed rooms: So instead of the four beds we had booked we had 2 beds. Not much good for a family of five. The hotel itself is fine. A bit tired and corporate but otherwise ok if you’re looking for a base to explore Hollywood and don’t care about long queues, customer service or how many beds you get given.

Lots of sneaky, hidden charges. They charged $11 for the usually free bottles of water next yo the coffee pot. No price tags, just supposed gonintuit that a bottle of water costs $11!! Also the car sneakily added tip but Dobt tell you so you add additional tip. The rooms smell musty. There are scratches and stains. Dated , musty. Not a nice hotel. More like a motel inside. $22 dollar waters and they refuse to remove the charges. View of junkies shooting up. NEVER AGAIN!

Stayed in November 25, a very nice hotel with large well appointed rooms, large comfortable bed. All staff all very nice, the lobby bar offers very good burgers and “happy hour” snacks, although drink prices a very expensive ( no idea what happy hour means as the prices are the same). Everything is 20% service added and then a further % for Tax. There is also a $34 addition fee per night for location tax The hotel is well placed for Hollywood boulevard, but the overall area is very tacky and does not feel safe at night Overall I would recommend the hotel, but very disappointed in Los Angeles, high cost for poor value
