I was playing Ultimate Texas Holdem last night and I noticed that the dealers were dealing their cards first before the players. This is the only casino that I’ve been to where this is the case. Anyone can do a quick search and see this is not the proper sequence. Players are supposed to get their cards first and dealer gets their cards last. I told the pit boss that it’s not the proper way of dealing the cards with the reason being that the automatic shufflers can be programmed to give the best cards first and beat all subsequent cards dealt to the players. The pit boss confessed that the automatic shufflers likely are programmed, meaning the cards are not random. I was dumbfounded. If you’re going to computerize a table game that needs to be disclosed upfront. The expectation is when you sit down at a table game that there is a house edge, but not that the house is controlling the cards. That is cheating and dishonest.

Staff was unfriendly upon check in. The 1,800 plus a night had a terrible view. Not worth the money at all. The only nice thing was the larger bathroom. We booked one adult and a small child , advertised that it slept 3 ( no pull out bed ) it was a very stained sofa. Had to call for sheets and blankets to set it up. Blankets had holes in them and were very thin. Room had to be kept at 75 just so our child Could stay warm. Place smelt like cigarettes.

Received a mailer offer, called 2 days later and the offer was already “booked up”. Tried to get in contact with the hosts but they never responded. Glad I’m a “valued guest”.

The most important thing to know before visiting here is that the site is a casino first and foremost. Everything revolves around that, the hotel exists around it and is therefore not the luxury experience it is sold as. The guitar may look good from a distance but scratch under the veneer of the image and you find the emperor’s new clothes. The first impression as you walk in is the smell of smoke. That is everywhere as you walk around the casino. Not only do your clothes smell but since I suffer from asthma I cough wherever I go. They should be handing out masks. You will not see this made clear on their website, which is not very transparent as to the low experience you will get. This establishment has clearly been modelled like a Vegas hotel dropped in the centre of Florida, and what you get is exactly a Vegas experience. Not luxury with the sort of clientele the casino attracts. I’m guessing those punters pay far less than English travellers and we are subsidising everything? As a result the experience is nothing like value for money and a massive disappointment. Let us not forget the resort fee. What’s that all about? Just quote one price don’t insult people. Also the pool area was overrun by iguanas. Surely with the money Hard Rock is taking they can afford to pay people to keep them in check? Booking on a website that is not good for navigating was hard enough. This is the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in. Set up just to take money. The lightshow was cancelled. The Unity scheme fails to record your hotel stays. Poor loyalty scheme and worse all the adverts around the hotel to join it and obtain a free tee shirt. My wife joined and then was told there was no tee shirt try on your next visit! Like we are going to travel 5000 miles for that!! There is a lot to learn about customer service in this establishment. Lionel Messi apparently stayed here over Xmas. I’m guessing his experience was different to ours. When you do not treat all your customers as equals then you become an organisation that does not deserve patronage. No one person is more important than anyone else. This was our 31st different Hard Rock. Our loyalty clearly counts for nothing. It will probably be our last. In the years we have been visiting Hard Rocks the brand has changed beyond recognition. The customer service department never reply to emails, many cafes have been closed as have hotels, and casinos are becoming prevalent. Money, money and more money is clearly the mantra and the original Hard Rock ethos of cafes and memorabilia has been lost along the way by the current owners. I think a rebrand is necessary to stop us all thinking the Company is following the original line. At the very least a rethink to actually decide what it is the brand now stands for and is hoping to achieve.
