Reviews for Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong

A “not too bad” lunch with family.

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 8 hours ago

As an avid fan of the MO Brand, this time my family and I are headed towards Hong Kong and tried Man Wah for lunch for the first time. We initially had some high hopes and expectations, though everything was delivered exceptionally great, from the food, drinks and service. There were some parts where we thought it could have been done better, such as the occasional pouring of tea to our teacups, the unfolding of table napkins for each one of us, as well as my husband’s and son’s complimentary birthday surprise of the longevity bun, because we had stated prior that it’s both of their birthdays but the chocolate writing’s we had received was only with my husband’s. Also, I understand that we had arrived a bit late to the dining venue and had a limited dining hours for each table as a policy, when we were about to leave, there was this gentleman whom I assumed is the manager, came to our table and had said to me and my son in similar words, “I’m sorry, but we need the table back”. It honestly felt too blatantly said when it could have been said in a warmer and nicer way, especially when working for a Michelin Starred Restaurant under the Mandarin Oriental brand. However, apart from those small details, we still enjoyed overall.

Amazing experience

It was an amazing day for me! Everything was perfect, the breakfast in Café Causette, the yoga session with Christina, the SPA area with two kinds of Sauna and their showers cold or hot, and the Inner Strength Massage with a very nice therapist that I recommend for all stressed people!!

Great Experience at Man Wah

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 3 days ago

Me and my girlfriend went to Man Wah at the Mandarin Oriental for a dinner celebrating our third anniversary. We ordered their famous Peking duck, and also the jellyfish head, a tofu and morel dish, and lastly their specialty fried rice. The food did not disappoint; the Peking duck skin was crispy and masterfully cut, and the second course was wonderfully stir fried without being too greasy and salty, but without compromise on flavour. That alone made our experience fulfilling, but every other dish exceeded our expectations as well. A bonus was their chrysanthemum and tangerine peel tea. It was one of the best teas we've had and paired very well with the dishes we had. This restaurant truly deserves their Michelin Star status. Finally and most importantly, we would like to give a shout out to your wonderful staff Vincent, Frances, and German. They really went above and beyond helping us with the dishes, taking photos, and even sent us off with a small gift for our anniversary. Their service truly made our evening special and I really hope that they get the recognition they deserve!

AMAZING and EXCEPTIONAL

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

we spent three nights at this AMAZING property...the service level from airport pickup through check-out is absolutely exceptional: 10 out of 10, 10 being best...we experienced various restaurants onsite: including, Clipper Lounge and The Chinnery; and all exceeded expectations...one last: the beds were huge and hugely comfortable...we wanted to take them home with us...
