Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong

We had a night at the MO at the end of our China/HK trip. Our room (1526) was a corner suite (we were upgraded) with terrific views of the harbour from the lounge and the fantastic bathroom, although unfortunately not from the bedroom. All the usual facilities and plenty of storage. Slightly noisy air con but otherwise very quiet. Staff were helpful, especially the Concierge Team. We ate at Cafe Causette as unfortunately we arrived too late to take our table at Man Wah. Friendly, helpful staff here, the food came quickly which is just what we needed. Try the adjacent coffee bar as well. Breakfast was good, plenty of choice, well-staffed and efficient, although we found the space a bit tight. Really convenient location, although with the building works around the waterfront it’s easy to get lost. Signage could be better on the elevated walkway from the Star Ferry Pier, but that’s a minor gripe.

If you want to stay anywhere in Hong Kong, this is the place and has been for many many years. Forget all the brush new five star and above hotels this is real quality. Lovely if a little old-fashioned rooms with great bathrooms. Staff simply beyond amazing combining old world servicewith modern charm and graciousness.

Loved our harbour view room on 18th floor. Very comfortable bed and pillows. Loved the curtained off reading area too. Great cocktails in the Aubery. Highly recommend a stay here

Exceptional experience from start to finish. The Mandarin Grill and Bar sets the standard for what fine dining service should be: attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely friendly. The staff are true professionals. A special shout-out to their wine program. We received excellent wine priming from the team, who helped us select bottles and by-the-glass options that perfectly complemented our meals. The pairings were insightful and elevated the entire dinner. Food was fantastic, but the service and wine are what will bring us back. A must-visit.

Hotel is extremely convenient and staff is wonderful! I had originally booked the wrong days for my stay and the team made everything work smoothly. In the lobby, John and Arnold especially made me feel at home.
