Amazing Club and Crazy Levels of Service

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 11 hours ago

Okay, so the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, a hotel with a world reknowned reputation for service... and now we see why. Our arrival was a bit messed up due to a late flight in on a weekend meaning that we hit the hotel during the middle of the night and things didn't go overly smoothly, to the point where we started looking for other hotels to move to. But boy did they recover from this and then some! In the morning I had a quick chat with Steve Leung, the front office manager and from that point onwards for the entire next week he took it on himself personally to make sure our stay was perfect. He got us a room that was absolutely perfect, he found countless ways to surprise and delight us and he would personally come find us and check that everything was going well every day or so. This guy is an absolute legend! The next point of joy was on entering the club lounge. This place takes an 8/10 hotel to an 18/10 hotel! Honestly, the amount of things we were impressed with in the club lounge seemed to just go on and on and on. The people, especially Sam, Eleesa, Roxanne and Man, they were just doing everything they could to make sure we had everything we needed and did incredibly well over the busy Easter period! The food there, mind blowing! Its not just an add on or an afterthought, it's a reason in itself to keep returning to the Mandarin Club! Every night would have a different theme of canapes. They apologised for switching out the Ruinart Champagne to a lovely limited edition Moet when other hotels are trying to pass off cheap cava / prosecco as champagne. Their afternoon tea was easily up the standard of some of the top afternoon teas around the world. They apologised for only having about 10 different types of whiskey for their cocktails. They surprised us with small thoughtful gifts and Sam even personally escorted us to our car when we left. The on-site food / drink establishments we tried (only a few of the amazing options available) were the same level, just so many peak experiences. The Krug Room was just another level for champagne lovers and Lewis was way more knowledgable than I expected. The Aubrey was just a nice bar, until we got talking to the staff, then wow, yet another peak experience with Stefano knocking it out of the park. We even bumped in to the GM and his family a couple of times (who never seems to sleep yet always makes time to talk to guests), they are just truly nice people and you can see this attitude filters down. Overall, if you judge hospitality on the peak experiences and moments of surprise and delight, the Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong provides those in spades!

Fantastic stay

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

We had a wonderful stay at the Mandarin Oriental HK, we were made to feel so very welcome from the moment we stepped in. Daniel at reception took the time to get to know more about us and our stay and made it such a personal experience that made this hotel stay special. We were lucky to experience the mandarin club which is a lovely space that allows for relaxation. They serve breakfast there which was nice and quie. Furthermore there is also a fantastic afternoon tea which we very much enjoyed. Special thanks to Alyssa who was so warm and welcoming during our stay and made sure that we were well looked after. The staff at the Mandarin club, especially Vangie and Arcmond worked tirelessly throughout the day to make our stay so enjoyable. They took the time to really get to know us which we really appreciated. The room was very comfortable and spacious with a lovely turndown service. Housekeeping made sure that our room was always exceptionally clean and well stocked. To put simply we had a fantastic time and would be keen to stay again. K & R

Exceptional Dining Experience – Special Thanks to Leslie and Steven

I had dinner at Café Causette in the Mandarin Oriental tonight, and the experience was nothing short of exceptional. While the food was consistently high-quality, it was the professional and warm service that truly stood out. I would like to give a special shout-out to Leslie. She greeted us with a brilliant smile throughout the evening and was incredibly attentive to every detail. What impressed me most was her proactiveness—she noticed I wanted to take photos and offered to help. To my surprise, her photography skills are amazing! The shots were beautifully composed and captured the moment perfectly. I also want to thank Steven for his impeccable service. He was professional, thoughtful, and ensured that everything ran smoothly, making our dining experience very comfortable. Dining here is more than just a meal; it’s about the genuine care the team shows to their guests. Thank you, Leslie and Steven, for a wonderful evening. I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends!

5 stars hotel with genuine Hong Kong culture

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

We recently had breakfast with my elderly parents at Cafe Causette. This was their first time at the restaurant, and the level of care they received is incredibly personal and warm. Food was fresh, super delicious and the portion was more than enough for a good morning. Special thanks to our server, Marie who is a credit to the hotel’s service team. Without us even having to ask, she anticipated my parents' needs—ensuring their food was served exactly how they liked it and keeping their drinks topped up. She made them feel welcomed and had a little chat with them once she’s less busy. She gave us an update on the restaurant renovation schedule so not to disappoint us if we come again in the next few months. From the moment we stepped into the hotel, we experienced the special kind of Hong Kong hospitality - genuine politeness and efficiency which is hard to replicate.
