Marvelously, I decided to stay at the Peninsula Hong Kong for my three days of little jaunt. The hotel was situated in the bustling and yet trendy of Tsim Sha Tsui area, the hotel has provided calmness and top notch services. The room was perfect, spacious, and immaculate. Also, food and drinks were superb too. Recommended !!!

The Peninsula Hong Kong is undeniably a beautiful, historic property with immaculately maintained rooms. However, for an ultra-luxury stay, the overall experience felt a bit too routine. The front desk team was perfectly polite and professional during check-in, but the interaction felt transactional and nothing truly stood out to make us feel particularly welcome. Logistically, the stay had some friction. The street directly in front of the hotel gets heavily congested during busy hours, meaning the concierge desk was constantly swamped and securing a taxi was a major challenge. More importantly, at this premium price tag, there are other luxury hotels in Kowloon that offer better views alongside equal - or even superior hospitality. It is a solid, historic hotel, but it is no longer the best choice among Hong Kong's elite luxury properties.

The Peninsula is the grande dame of Hong Kong for good reason. From the moment we arrived, the service was flawless — warm, attentive, and never intrusive. We were celebrating a birthday and anniversary, and the team surprised us with a beautiful blueberry cake and a handwritten card from the Director of Front Office, a thoughtful touch that made the stay feel personal. The Grand Deluxe Room was elegant and impeccably maintained, with everything controlled effortlessly through the in-room iPad. Lovely details throughout — a Dyson hair dryer, Nespresso machine, complimentary Evian, and a classic Chinese tea set. Having stayed at The Peninsula Bangkok before, I can say the brand holds its standard beautifully across cities. Peninsula is always Peninsula — quality never drops. We’ll be back.

What an absolute wonder! Having afternoon tea at The Lobby of The Peninsula Hong Kong is not just a mid-day treat; it is a ritual, a journey back in time, and undoubtedly one of the most iconic culinary and cultural experiences in the world. From the moment you walk through the revolving doors and step into that majestic, colonial-style hall, you realize you are experiencing something truly special. Whether you are planning your visit, reliving the experience, or sharing it with someone, here are the pillars that make this Afternoon Tea so legendary: 1. The Setting: Classic Elegance The high ceilings with gilded neoclassical moldings, the towering columns, and the crystal chandeliers instantly transport you back to the 1920s. As you enjoy your meal, a live string quintet (The Lobby Strings) plays from the balcony above, creating an atmosphere of absolute serenity right in the heart of bustling Kowloon. 2. The Stars of the Menu: The Scones While the seasonal menu features delicate savory finger sandwiches (the classic cucumber is a must) and fine pastries, the undisputed king of the three-tiered stand is the traditional raisin scones. • They arrive wrapped in cloth to keep them warm. • They are served with authentic Devonshire clotted cream and organic strawberry jam. 3. The Tableware and Details The experience is elevated by the finest touches of luxury: • Fine Silverware: The bespoke Tiffany & Co. silver tableware gleams impeccably. • The Tea: They offer a massive selection of loose-leaf teas, ranging from the classic Peninsula Afternoon Blend to premium local oolong and pu-erh teas.

I have traveled throughout the world, and I have never had a better experience anywhere than at the Peninsula in Hong Kong. We were treated like royalty from the moment we arrived. The use of the hotel’s Rolls Royce, which I used to pick my husband up from the airport, was incredible icing on the cake.
