The Upper House is a highly individualized small luxury hotel designed by Hong Kong architect Andre Fu. The hotel’s 117 rooms including 21 suites and 2 penthouses, start at 730 square feet, the largest in Hong Kong. Rooms and suites feature wonderfully spacious bathrooms and dressing areas, and offer either scenic harbour or island views. Calming and contemporary, the rooms are designed to provide a sense of relaxation, warmth and understated luxury. Bespoke service, well-crafted natural materials and a design aesthetic based around the ‘Upward Journey’ creates a timeless serenity that flows through the different rooms of our House.

Back at my favorite hotel since February 2026. Thank you to Edward for the warm welcome and to Vanessa for taking such good care of me. As usual, the room is fantastic and comfortable. We spent almost the entire day at the room, just watching movies and enjoying the complimentary minibar.

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Upper House in Hong Kong. The room features timeless, classic design paired with sweeping, open‑view vistas that instantly put you at peace. The restaurant and bar on the 49th floor are incredibly cosy and inviting — it is the perfect spot for a leisurely drink. What truly stands out is the service: warm, thoughtful and attentive, it makes you feel right at home. Would highly recommend and I cannot wait to come back.

My 5-night stay at The Upper House exceeded all expectations. The hotel offers a perfect balance of elegance, and comfort. The room was impeccably maintained, spacious, making it a pleasure to return to each day. It felt like home. What truly made the experience exceptional was the outstanding service. I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to Eden, Eddie, and Leo for their kindness, attentiveness, and dedication. They consistently provided service with genuine warmth and ensured every aspect of my stay was seamless.

There are luxury hotels, and then there are places that genuinely make you feel cared for. The Upper House is one of those rare places that completely redefines hospitality. From before I even arrived, the team was already looking after me. They helped receive my parcel in advance, arranged an in-room massage for two at very short notice, organised a six-seater airport transfer for our departure, and even graciously extended our late check-out to perfectly match our flight schedule. Every request was met with warmth, efficiency, and a sincere desire to help—it never felt transactional. What stood out the most wasn’t just the beautiful rooms or the stunning views over Hong Kong. It was the people. Every conversation felt personal. Every message was thoughtful. Every interaction made me feel like I wasn’t simply staying at a hotel—I was coming home after a long day. The team anticipated needs before I even had to ask, and every detail was handled with genuine care and professionalism. By the end of my stay, I honestly didn’t want to leave. As someone who travels frequently for work, I stay in many luxury hotels around the world. Very few leave a lasting impression beyond the property itself. The Upper House is different. It leaves you remembering the people. I’ve already decided this will be my home whenever I’m in Hong Kong. There isn’t another hotel I’ll consider. To everyone at The Upper House—thank you for making this one of the most memorable hotel experiences I’ve ever had. You turned a business trip into something incredibly comforting and special. Home away from home isn’t just a saying here—it truly is the experience they create. ❤️

I’ve visited The Upper House many times over the years, and this visit reminded me why it remains one of my favorite hotels in Hong Kong. From the moment I arrived early in the morning, the team had already arranged an early check-in, which was greatly appreciated after a long journey. Throughout my stay, I was welcomed with thoughtful amenities and gifts delivered to my room. What made the experience especially meaningful was that many of the staff still remembered me from previous visits. That genuine sense of recognition made me feel more like I was returning home than checking into a hotel. After the team (Director of Guest Experience -Edward) learned that I had a baby, they surprised us with an adorable baby outfit delivered to the room—a small gesture that perfectly reflects The Upper House’s thoughtful and personalized service. The room itself is timeless, understated, and incredibly calming. The minimalist design has aged beautifully, and the oversized bathroom remains one of the best hotel bathrooms in Hong Kong. It’s the definition of quiet luxury. I enjoyed Sunday brunch, breakfast every morning, and several meetings in the 49th-floor lounge. The food was consistently excellent, and the lounge provided a bright, peaceful space that was ideal for both relaxing and working. If I had one minor criticism, it would be that the gym is on the smaller side. I later learned that guests can also use the fitness and pool facilities at the neighboring Conrad Hong Kong, which is a nice option, although I didn’t have time to take advantage of it during this stay. Overall, this was another exceptional stay. The Upper House continues to excel not because it’s flashy, but because of its impeccable service, thoughtful attention to detail, and serene atmosphere. It’s a hotel that genuinely makes you feel cared for, and I look forward to returning.
