A Secluded Luxury Haven Above Admiralty — Where Hong Kong’s Elegance Lives in Every Detail

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 day ago

On my third trip to Hong Kong, I finally stayed at The Upper House, and it surpassed every expectation I had. The moment you step through the stone curtain entrance, the hustle and bustle of the city vanishes completely. The 38th-floor sky lobby feels like a quiet, cloud-top sanctuary, brimming with understated elegance. What stood out most was the guest room space. For prime Admiralty real estate, even the base room feels as spacious as a private apartment. Andre Fu’s design is warm and restrained, with premium wood and stone finishes that feel luxurious yet deeply calming. Floor-to-ceiling panoramic windows frame unbeatable views of Central’s skyline and Victoria Harbour. Watching the sunset from the sofa, then soaking in the tub as the city lights up after dark, is an experience nothing short of magical. The service is thoughtful and unobtrusive in the best way. Check-in is handled privately in your room, with none of the crowded front desk hassle. The 24-hour butler responds promptly to every request, and the complimentary maxi bar is well-stocked with drinks and snacks. Turndown service is meticulous — slippers are neatly laid out, water is refilled, and the welcome amenity even comes with a handwritten note for a personal touch. The location is unbeatable: sitting directly above Pacific Place, with instant access to malls and Admiralty MTR station, making shopping and commuting effortless. More than flashy, overt luxury, The Upper House feels like a thoughtfully curated urban residence — quiet, relaxing, and polished down to the very last detail. It will be my first choice for every future visit to Hong Kong.

Amazing!

It was simply perfect! Very friendly staff, amazing infrastructure. Little details, the way I was greeted, amenities in the room, including a dyson hair dryer which I love. Great staff also and special thank you to Alex Chan and KMa, as well as a younger lady who grew up in Hong Kong but has Indian heritage (sorry i forgot your name). Thank you everyone, I will be back:)

Other luxury hotels should take note

Absolutely unbelievable levels of service and attention to detail. The rooms were gorgeous, but the service was unlike anything I've experienced anywhere. My son was travelling with his baby, and every corner had been protected in advance, for instance. And this extended to everything. Natalie in particular was helpful and welcoming.

Warm and attentive service without being intrusive

This stay was to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday. A big thank you to Vanessa and Gigi for taking such good care of us. They were very friendly and gave us great recommendations for local food and places to visit. When they found out it was his birthday, they pretended a cake and gift. We really enjoyed our stay, but never intrusive. We will definitely come back next time.

My Favourite Haven in Hong Kong

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 week ago

If you are looking for a hotel that effortlessly combines understated luxury with unparalleled comfort, Upper House Hong Kong is in a league of its own. From the moment I arrived, it felt less like a hotel and more like a sophisticated, deeply comforting urban retreat. Here is why my recent stay was nothing short of exceptional: The rooms here are a masterclass in minimalist, thoughtful luxury. The layout feels incredibly spacious, utilizing warm woods, soft textures, and a calming neutral palette. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, but the absolute crown jewel was the monumental bathroom. Soaking in the deep freestanding bathtub next to a massive window, looking out over the city skyline, was pure bliss. Every detail—from the intuitive lighting to the complimentary minibar. Perched right above Pacific Place in Admiralty, the location is absolutely perfect, just above MTR. It strikes the ideal balance of being centrally located without feeling congested. What truly elevates Upper House Hong Kong from a great hotel to a legendary one is the service. The staff doesn’t just offer standard luxury service; they provide genuine, intuitive hospitality. There is no traditional, stuffy front desk—check-in is handled seamlessly in your room. Every team member I encountered was warm, highly professional, and seemed to anticipate my needs before I even realized them myself. They make you feel entirely at home. Upper House Hong Kong doesn't just meet the standards of a 5-star hotel—it sets a new one. For its serene design, perfect location, and world-class team, it becomes my absolute favorite haven in Hong Kong. I cannot wait to return.
