The Halekulani is an oasis of perfection in Hawaii. We booked an ocean view room for our last two nights in Hawaii. What a great decision. We enjoyed our lanai, the superior restaurants, pool/services, spa appointments & location for exploring Honolulu. Superior quality in Hawaii!

Returning to Halekulani is always a pleasure, but this year's visit was unlike any other. Our family gathered from California and Arizona to celebrate my mother's 90th birthday, and from the moment we arrived until the day we reluctantly departed, the Halekulani team made what was already an extraordinary occasion truly unforgettable. Before we even arrived, the hotel graciously honored my request to have our family's rooms located close together—a thoughtful detail that made the entire week feel connected from the very beginning. My mother's room welcomed her with beautiful flowers, birthday gifts, and special amenities, immediately setting the tone for a celebration that felt warm, personal, and heartfelt. What impressed us most was not a single grand gesture, but the remarkable way the entire hotel embraced the occasion. The Front Desk, Concierge, Housekeeping, Orchids, House Without a Key, and every member of the restaurant teams seemed to know they were helping celebrate an important milestone. My mother was greeted with birthday wishes everywhere she went, often by name, and every interaction felt genuine rather than rehearsed. At one point, even another guest stopped to wish her a happy birthday. Somehow, that simple moment captured the spirit of Halekulani perfectly. The property itself remains as elegant and timeless as ever. Our rooms overlooking Diamond Head and the Pacific provided a spectacular setting, while evenings beside the kiawe tree at House Without a Key became the highlight of each day. Listening to Hawaiian music as Kanoe Miller danced through the sunset was unforgettable, made even more meaningful when the musicians remembered my mother's favorite song and dedicated it to her each evening, a moment she looked forward to with great anticipation throughout our stay. Breakfasts at Orchids, the thoughtful turn-down gifts each evening, and the peaceful beauty of the grounds all contributed to an atmosphere that is luxurious without ever feeling pretentious. There are so many people we would like to thank. Justin and Donna at the Front Desk made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we arrived. Chief Concierge David and his outstanding Team helped with special requests and anticipated every detail with effortless professionalism. Justice and Tom at the pool always seemed to know exactly what we needed before we had to ask. At Orchids, Darlyn greeted us each morning with warmth and kindness, while the team thoughtfully remembered to have a cushion waiting at my mother's chair so she could comfortably enjoy the magnificent view of Diamond Head and the Pacific. At House Without a Key, Lorenzo, Jan, Rage, Melissa, Melony, and their wonderful colleagues made every breakfast, lunch, and sunset dinner feel like dining among friends. Halekulani's famous coconut cake made several memorable appearances during the week, each presentation as beautiful as the last. What began as a thoughtful birthday surprise soon became one of our family's favorite traditions of the celebration, always greeted with smiles, laughter, and eager anticipation. As we prepared to leave, my mother quietly remarked that she wished she could stay another week. I cannot imagine a finer compliment. Beautiful hotels can be found throughout the world. What is far more difficult to find is a hotel where genuine kindness is simply part of the culture. Thanks to the extraordinary people of Halekulani, my mother's 90th birthday became a celebration our family will treasure forever. That is Halekulani's greatest luxury. Wonderful hotel and staff. Location is ideal to get around to the beach and shops. The hotel is peaceful and the rooms are immaculate. Exceptional pool and guest service. Thanks Yubi, Cenon and Marylin! Can’t wait to be back!
