The Halekulani is an oasis in Hawaii that is unequaled in Hawaii. It stands out for service, food, decor and ambience. It is relaxing and so welcoming to both new and return guests.

My husband and I traveled to Honolulu for our anniversary. Halekulani was absolute magic. Our room was so lovely with welcome fruit. They took such time and care with everything from the moment we checked in. Our view was stunning. We enjoyed watching the surfers from the balcony. Breakfast was an event each morning and the servers remembered our preferences after the first day. Our meal at House without a Key was lovely with live entertainment and the most beautiful sunset ever. We now rate our hotels by this experience and find ourselves saying often…. Well it’s no Halekulani.

We spent 5 nights here on our way back to Australia, after 3 busy weeks travelling through the US, so we were seeking R&R. This hotel is certainly the best lux beach front property in Waikiki. Its location is close enough to the action, yet far enough away from the crazy tourist hub. That is until the nightly hula entertainment begins and there is an influx of tourists from other properties coming in for their sunset shots. We are a family of five and had 2 ocean view suites (which were beautiful) but we did need to come down to the House Without A Key garden area as soon as it opened as there was often a queue of outside guests lined up for a piece of the action. The staff and service provided at the property was excellent, but this was to be expected given the prices we were paying. The buffet breakfast was plentiful, but it does seem to have more of a Japanese influence which lacked variety and was a little repetitive by day 5. The complimentary daily icecreams by the pool were enjoyed by our teens and the pool staff were always prompt and friendly with their service. I have given this hotel 5 stars because it is worthy of that, but, would I go back? Probably not, for the simple fact that Waikiki has become so built up, commercialised and over run with tourists, it has lost its traditional Hawaiian charm. But if you are travelling to Waikiki and you are happy to pay for lux, then this is your place.

The best hotel in the heart of Waikiki. Have been living in Hawaii for the past 26 years and just recently had my first stay here. This luxury hotel did not disappoint. The hotel is very quiet and a little tucked away from the Waikiki noise but walkable to all the shopping and dinning in Waikiki. The staff go above and beyond to make sure you have a great stay.

We just returned from five nights at the Halekulani in Honolulu and it was incredible. The hotel, food, service and staff were wonderful… From the moment we arrived to the moment we departed, the staff could not do enough for us.

I have traveled to the Hawaiian islands many times and stayed in fine hotels on five Hawaiian islands, but never in all my experience have I encountered such remarkable guest service, hospitality, warmth, and consistent excellence that at Halekulani. At all times, guests are greeted by name by everyone. Any guest request or preference is accommodated immediately, and noted for the future. We were treated like celebrities... This hotel, from start to finish, is simply a class act.

We are accustomed to staying in luxury accommodations, yet the beauty of the Halekulani hotel was breathtaking. We were stunned by the warm, outstanding service. No effort was too great to assure our comfort!! Our every desire was satisfied. We were positively delighted by the romance and perfection of La Mer restaurant and the outrageous pampering spa services we received.

My wife and I this past December, 2004, stayed at the Halekulani Hotel in Hawaii. The trip was wonderful. The hotel was beautiful and serene, and the service at the hotel was unlike any we have experienced. I would recommend this trip to anyone.
