Elite Hotel in Waikiki

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

This is a legendary resort, probably the third oldest hotel in Waikiki. It is beautifully appointed with excellent facilities, ranging from the spa to the dining facilities. Made service, concierge, front desk, the gentleman at the driveway near the lobby, everyone was so cordial and helpful. The food and service at La Mer and the orchid were outstanding. We had got a couples massage at the spa, which was also excellent.

Do not recommend this hotel! Homeless people live on the beach! Zero safety

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

Do not recommend. There is no beach, there was a homeless person who lived next to the hotel and you could see him during the breakfast. The ocean from room was not the truly oceanfront, it had the obstructed view. The room does not have what is needed to be the 5 stars hotel. There was only one chair inside, no minibar, nothing. A very disappointing experience considering the cost and the expectation. A very unsafe environment considering the dirty homeless watching you every minute when we were near the pool.

Best hotel in Honolulu

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

The Halekulani is truly one of a kind. What a fabulous property! Every detail is perfection. The facilities, the rooms, the dining, the entertainment, the staff, the location. You name it. Everything we were looking for in a Hawaiian vacation was under one roof. I love that they are a member of Leading Hotels of the World as well. I use that as my guide to pick the best resorts. 10/10. Hope to come back one day!

The best place to stay in Honolulu!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

From now on, this is the only hotel I'll stay at in Honolulu. Hands down, the loveliest experience. Charming room, while not the largest, certainly well appointed and the softest sheets of any hotel I've ever stayed at. State-of-the-art toilets with automatic open/close when you enter and heated seats. The patio furniture has baby socks on the "feet" of the furniture so it does't scrape the surface and make noise. You can't tell from the street, but once you enter the hotel premises, it's very zen. Staff is lovely. Restaurants are nice. Rooms are quiet. Truly a lovely hotel and a lovely guest experience.

We just returned from five nights at the Halekulani in Honolulu and it was incredible. The hotel, food, service and staff were wonderful… From the moment we arrived to the moment we departed, the staff could not do enough for us.

I have traveled to the Hawaiian islands many times and stayed in fine hotels on five Hawaiian islands, but never in all my experience have I encountered such remarkable guest service, hospitality, warmth, and consistent excellence that at Halekulani. At all times, guests are greeted by name by everyone. Any guest request or preference is accommodated immediately, and noted for the future. We were treated like celebrities... This hotel, from start to finish, is simply a class act.

We are accustomed to staying in luxury accommodations, yet the beauty of the Halekulani hotel was breathtaking. We were stunned by the warm, outstanding service. No effort was too great to assure our comfort!! Our every desire was satisfied. We were positively delighted by the romance and perfection of La Mer restaurant and the outrageous pampering spa services we received.

My wife and I this past December, 2004, stayed at the Halekulani Hotel in Hawaii. The trip was wonderful. The hotel was beautiful and serene, and the service at the hotel was unlike any we have experienced. I would recommend this trip to anyone.
