Enjoyed a modern interior with great services. Room is clean, and great access to the beach. I did not want to leave my room with ocean view at all. Love the bathroom updates.

The hotel is not on the ocean, but you can see the ocean from Ocean VIew Rooms and from the Pool Deck. It is an easy walk to a small beach that is actually very nice for easy swimming. The tide doesn't pull you out. The sand is soft. The rooms are very nice with great amenities and Washlets. The front desk is always responsive, sending up robes, coffees, and anything else we asked for. We initially booked a mountain view room, but that view is still city side, and you can't really feel like you're in Hawaii. They generously upgraded us to the ocean view for the last 4 nights, with a very low in-house rate, and for the rest of our stay, We were definitely in Hawaii! We used our room charges at the Halekulani mother property next door, on the beach, for great evening small meals and cocktails and Hula several evenings, as well as the Lewers Lounge later, for Jazz and more Cocktails (or Mocktails). And, for a less expensive option, we often bought supplies (good Poke) for the fridge and some meals at the large ABC Deli just around the corner. We walked from our hotel to Duke's, Moana, and everything else, every day. Waikiki is a big resort city, so it's not quiet and it is crowded, but there is much to do and Halepuna is the best way to do it.

Hotel is a 10 out of 10. Little brother of its neighbor, the Halekulani, it’s got the same great cleanliness and modernity. Only the rooms and views (for certain rooms) are less.

Just off the beach and immediately next to the beach access. That said, this part of the beach is extremely small and not the usual waikiki experience. Walk from there past the Sheraton Waikiki and experience the beach there, which is great. Good location to get to the Royal Hawaiian Center which has all the shops and restaurants. Guests here can pick up a bag with towels to take to the beach which was very helpful. Onsite restaurant was very good for breakfast. We had access to Halekulani restaurants but didn’t end up checking out that hotel.
