This was our second stay at the Halepuna. The first time was 4 years ago but the hotel doesn’t look day older than it did back then. Out room was well appointed with everything we could need including water bottles that could be refilled at various filling stations around the hotel - a nice touch and better than single use bottles. For those extra essentials, there was a menu for ordering as and when needed - dental or shaving kits and slippers (a must - these were in fact sliders which we used daily both inside and outside the hotel) In addition beach towels were provided in bags at the bellhop desk and dropped back after the beach so no sandy wet towels in the bedroom. The Halepuna even has a guest laundry so you can wash and dry your own clothes during your stay without paying horrific hotel laundering prices. In terms of location you can’t do much better, the Halepuna is a few minutes walk from Waikiki beach and steps from numerous restaurants and shops. But what makes the Halepuna really special is the staff, who are happy and friendly and go out of their way to make your stay special. Stand out members are Keren at reception - a really lovely lady and RJ at the bellhop desk, who always had a smile and a happy word. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

We had a fantastic stay at the Halepuna. The room was extremely clean and modern and had everything we could have wanted. We dined at Orchids at the sister property - Halekulani - and it could not have been better. Highly recommend both.

Weird location at the back of another hotel. Had to walk thru a car park to get to the Main Street. Completely impersonal service, awful pool with a tiny view of the sea and no bar Not at all what we expected from Hawaii on our first visit Had a drink at the Royal Hawaiian hotel and wished we had stayed there instead!

This was my second stay. It was clean and beautiful, and the staff’s service was smart and comfortable, so I was able to spend my time there. The only disappointing thing was that even on the night of check-in, my luggage still hadn’t been delivered to my room. I probably forgot. But there was no proper apology. The staff member who delivered it was smiling and joking. It was very unpleasant.

Convenient location making it easy access to beaches, shopping and the Royal Hawaiian center. The room and balcony was small and even smaller with an added crib. Complimentary reusable water bottles were provided along with beach towel day-use. Overall, the amenities were satisfactory, clean and up to date. Events and decor during the holidays were beautiful. However, hospitality at the front desk was disappointing. The service did not match the standard I would expect from a 4 star property. While there were no major issues with the hotel itself, when we encountered an issue with our room and dead key, staff did not seek immediate help leaving us running up and down seeking for help and were left stranded outside our room with an infant. No accountability, no response, and no apologies.
