Halepuna Waikiki by Halekulani

This was my third stay, yet the front desk staff were unaware of it unless I mentioned it myself. Although a complimentary wine service was provided, it was disappointing that they hadn't recognized my repeat-guest status, especially since I had booked directly through the hotel's website rather than a discount travel site—unlike the manager at UMI Restaurant, who did remember me. On the positive side, the service from the poolside staff, valet, and concierge was excellent, and the room was impeccably clean. However, the lack of amenities—perhaps due to a recent trend—made the bathroom feel stark and empty, like a place stripped bare just before moving out. It is regrettable that service levels seem to be declining with each visit without any other improvements to compensate. I plan to stay here again next year and hope to see some changes for the better.

Great small and discrete hotel. Restaurant and hotel amenities such as pool and garden were amazing. Great location and transportations as well.

Really well appointed, top grade hotel with a high level of style coupled with great customer service, thorough housekeeping and amazing staff with a "you're welcome" and "no problem" attitude. Loved the use of the complimentary beach bag, towel and beach chair. Highly highly recommend staying here.

The location is excellent, the pool is wonderful, and the nearby ocean feels like a special and powerful place. The hotel is conveniently located within easy walking distance of the center of Waikiki, so it is easy to go out whenever we want, even just to grab something to eat. The bakery is also very convenient, and everything we need is close by. I was disappointed that I did not receive the email notifying me that my room was ready for check-in. Other than that, I think our stay was almost perfect.

I so enjoyed my 5 days at the Halepuna. The rooms were nice, relatively spacious, and comfortable. When I vacation, I spend as much time in my room as I do exploring, so my accommodations matter. I loved my visits to the adjoining Halekulani bakery in the mornings for coffee and croissants. I sat on the outside patio and enjoyed my breakfast while having quiet time with the Lord. I also enjoyed the fine dining at Umi, the restaurant in the lobby of the Halepuna. The staff there were friendly and welcoming. Additionally, the staff were so friendly and helpful. From the desk agents to the maintenance staff…good vibes ruled the days. The staff helped us with booking activities and provided umbrellas for us to brave the Hurricane Lowell aftermath. And the beaches…absolutely spectacular! Next time I come to Oahu, I’ll stay at the sister resort across the street for beach access from the hotel. I can’t wait!
