Poor communication
We arrived the day before the Honolulu Marathon and were unable to leave the property between 5am and 3pm on the day of the marathon. The hotel staff should have communicated the impact of the marathon to guests in advance. The next evening, the hotel was hosting a few events/holiday parties. The parking garage was full, and the valet could not keep up. There was a line of cars 1/3 of a mile long trying to reach the property. Guests could not make it back to the hotel and were forced to sit in the line of cars. Once we made it back to the hotel, we had to rush to shower and leave on foot, walk a 1/3 a mile, and then request an Uber to make it to dinner.

Excellent resort!
We recently stayed eight nights at the Kahala on Oahu where our expectations were exceeded! The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The bed was comfortable, accommodations extremely clean, views were lovely and resort was quiet and immaculate. The restaurants were delicious and had excellent service. We were also extremely pleased with the location. The resort felt very private compared to those on Waikiki. We highly recommend the Kahala and hope to go back again!

We love the Kahala
As always housekeeping was excellent. The food and service at Hoku’s was excellent. Our breakfast server, Randy, is the best and we look forward to seeing him every year. The one negative was the slow valet and bell service, not just on busy party nights but also during the day.
