Perfection is the only way to describe the Moana Surfrider! The staff, the location the luxury hotel, honestly one of the most incredible places and experiences I have had around the world. We had initially booked the Outrigger Beach Resort (next door) but were horrified by its current condition, Yumi at the Moana Surfrider found us a room at a better price than the Outrigger and immediately made us feel like our vacation was going to be incredible! Yumi also learned that it was our son’s 11th birthday while we would be staying and she and the staff went above and beyond to make him feel special and our family feel welcomed and settled. We have stayed across Europe, Asia and the continental US and this has been by far one of our best vacations. Their concierge Mary rebooked our luau (after rains on the north shore) and found us an incredible snorkeling adventure (where we saw dolphins and swam with turtles!) and made sure we knew we had to book our hike up Dimond Head. The location could not be better with its exceptional beach (book umbrellas before you come!) and the amazing shopping and dining options. Cannot recommend enough the brunch on the veranda an exceptional view in a stunning setting with really great food ( try the table side pancakes!!) Truly an amazing hotel they saved our vacation and absolutely exceeded our every expectation!! We will 100% be back! Thank you Yumi and the Moana staff for saving our vacation and making it SO special!

What a nice introduction to Hawaii. The Moana Surfrider is a great old style hotel. Wonderful service, lovely room and much easier to navigate than most of the other large hotels on Waikiki.

Stayed overnight on my way home to Maui from Japan. So thankful that I was able to check in early and had a very nice ocean view room on the 4th floor with amazing heavenly bed. Breakfast at the restaurant was delicious and they were able to accommodate a late checkout for me with my Bonvoy Platinum Elite status. Would highly recommend this hotel when staying in Waikiki.

Beautiful hotel, clean room with a fabulous view of the ocean, Waikiki beach and Diamond Head. We had the brunch and ate lunch in the bar… both a little expensive…. but also very good food and excellent service.

The positives We stayed in a diamond sea view room which was clean, spacious, well thought out and comfortable with a view that will stay with us forever . A lovely touch on arrival to be given a beautiful fresh Lei made from fresh orchids- beautiful and memorable. The location could not be better, staff over all (I will come back to that) are so friendly and attentive - the breakfast crew are off the charts great. Breakfast is good value with a great team that look after you so well . 49 dollars buffet sets you up for the entire day. The negatives Tiny pool with so very few sun beds with shade that are all taken first thing in the morning. Half a dozen or so on the beach, again all taken first thing … Meaning that you have to pay 100 dollars for two beds and shade at the next hotel or lay on the sand with no shade in red hot heat - it’s a big big big let down . Secondly pay 20 percent tip on everything - but - ask for a small cup of milk for the morning brew in the room ( we ran out of the free pots provided) and you might as well ask for the moon , the reply, politely - no - ask at the bar - ask in the morning - but no one will go out of their way to help - after paying everyone a 20 percent tip - that leaves a sour taste . On balance a good hotel - we will remember the many positives and put the negatives aside . It was a memorable stay - one we will cherish
