Hotel Granduca Houston

I had a great one night stay during a recent business trip. The hotel strikes the perfect balance between boutique charm and professional comfort. Check-in was seamless, the staff was attentive without being intrusive, and the room was impeccably clean. The bed was comfortable and the overall atmosphere was quiet which was ideal for getting work done before meetings. It is also convenient to multiple restaurants and a great coffee house.

The hotel was beautiful and elegant. The updates, floral arrangements, design and decor were amazing. The staff was polite and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable and the food at the restaurant was incredible. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I always love this hotel tucked into a great area in Uptown Houston with great walkable amenities. The hotel is very boutique in nature and has a European feel. Being what I call a five star experience for all the years I have been to this place, one of the key issues putting the hotel in this class is the elite staff and their customer service. This trip was no different but we were able to see a staff member go above and beyond. Unfortunately, my spouse hit a curb in my daughter's car (she lives in Houston), and blew out the front tire. We were prepared to call a third party service for the repair. I went to valet and asked them if they would hold the fob as we had to leave to meet up my daughter and her family for dinner and were now late. The young man who I talked to, Ethan, immediately volunteered to save us the cost as if we had the right tools, he would fix the flat himself in which he did. We were able to make our dinner, save the cost, and all because Ethan stepped up and beyond volunteering to help someone when 99 out 100 would have taken the easy route. That is a rare trait and mirrors the level of expectations we continue to experience at Granduca!

I I previously frequented this hotel many years ago, however, upon learning about the recent changes, I opted to revisit. I am pleased to say that I made the right choice and will certainly choose to stay here again whenever I am in Houston.

I have stayed here several times with 5 star experiences. First stay after the renovation so worried something changed after the renovation or just had an unlucky stay where everything worked against the experience. Pool was closed - no access to lounge chairs. Massive disparity in rooms so make sure you get a room that doesn't end in 16 or 19. The gym is tiny and there is no sign up for the two treadmills which are always busy, don't bother working out in the morning or after work as its jammed. Best to plan on an outside walk or run - park is nearby they might be able to shuttle you over. If you are a leaders member it doesn't matter to them which was disappointing - bad room assignment; no perks. Renovations really put a fresh look on the hotel. For some reason they were doing plumbing work next to my room so had banging all afternoon which made work difficult. Restaurant is great with A+ service and food. Location is great for meetings in the area as everything is easily walkable.
