Reviews for Omni Houston Hotel

Clean room and pleasant stay.

Our employee conference was last week and it was great service, the check in was quick, those that were doing the check were fast but through and helpful. They didn't push you off to get the line down but were kind while being fast. The catering folks were great, always keeping things tidy and refilling as needed. The room was clean and tidy. Housekeeping not only gave me additional creamer when I asked but a few cups as well (which made it easier each day to have coffee in my room). Check out was just as easy. They made staying there super easy. The only thing I would add is the room didn't have a fridge but they did bring one, the pool had a lot of chorine (but might have been me not the pool, I am a bit sensitive to smells). The rest was amazing. Food was good, the service was great and the attention to detail was nice.

This hotel is showing its age........

My wife and I selected this hotel to celebrate our anniversary, and we were taken aback by the lack of servers in the pool area. We read that there was poolside service available, but we had to go up the stairs to the bar area and get our own drinks almost every time. The pool area was also dirty, with leaf litter everywhere. The room service order was cold, items missing, and the restroom was in need of repair. Room service had upcharges like service fee and delivery fee, and they expect a tip on top of that. For the money, you may want to consider other options.

The service and hospitality of the staff are terrific here. Parking is close and clean. Just a great overall experience here.

The staff is amazing, Alex the gentleman who helped with our luggage again treated the kiddos great, had them laughing and entertained while we checked in. They give coloring books for kids and have great free refreshments at check-in. The entire complex is clean and everything is to the highest standards. The restaurant is amazing with great staff as well.

Decent time but a somewhat dated hotel

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

The good: - Staff was great -- checking in, changing reservation details, etc. were all very easy - Blackout curtains pretty effective at keeping light out of the bedroom (4.5/5!) but it helped that we had a suite with a bedroom separate from the main room windows - Above-average A/C -- cooled the room effectively and no shenanigans with the thermostat changing the set point on us - Room was adequately ventilated - Conventional bathroom setup -- shower, tub where you'd expect (you'd be amazed how many hotels try to be "fancy" here and create an unusable but cool-looking bathroom) - TV had an easily-accessible HDMI port - Good workspaces - Elevators were pretty quick The bad: - Toilet was a lazy flusher -- needed 3, 4, even 5 flushes to ... get everything down (to their credit the staff offered to change our room but given we only had one more night there we opted to stay put and the toilet mostly behaved) - WiFi was reliable but slow, measuring 10 Mbps up/down - No Ethernet in the room - Housekeeping was lackluster -- room service tray sat outside our door for nearly 24 hours before being picked up (and only because we called about it); trash wasn't collected from the room - Room was a little musty The meh: - Overall aesthetic and room decor is quite dated, but the lobby is beautiful - Bed was fine; pillows were rather soft - Breakfast and room service were fine, nothing to write home about - Parking was about standard for Texas
