Omni Houston Hotel

As a splurge for myself every year - I book a massage at the Mokara Spa and spend the night in a room in the hotel. The Omni Houston has been my favorite hotel in Houston for years and years. This year I took the afternoon off from work, showed up at the spa and got ready to relax and unclench from my week. As I waited for my service, I heard loud bass coming from somewhere. I asked an attendant if was coming from the pool area. She explained that there was a dance competition directly above the spa. Ah! So the bass and loud voice of the emcee would not go away any time soon. I thought maybe the noise would diminish in the treatment room. No. It was actually louder. I tried to focus on relaxing as my massage began. No. I couldn't do it. I treat myself to this experience to get AWAY from that kind of disturbance. I wasn't able to continue with the massage. The staff was very apologetic and lovely about the whole thing. They requested that the dance group lower the volume but had no success with them. I left without getting my service and went up to my room. No bass and no emcee shouting! Unfortunately, time hasn't been kind to this Omni. The room's appearance was so tired. The bathroom was not particularly clean but certainly usable. I made the best of it all and got comfortable to read my book and enjoy a room service meal. That service was exceptional! Later I climbed into bed only to find that the linens absolutely REEKED of an old man smell. There's no way those bed linens were washed after the last guest and still reeked of a dirty human. I tried to find an area of the sheet and pillows that didn't smell horrible. Maybe I should have called the front desk? How long would it take to have someone come up, strip the bed and put clean sheets on? Or would I have to pack up and move to a different room? I didn't want to find out. I tried to put my face in an area that didn't stink and slept. This was such a disappointment. I have no idea what has happened to this Omni. The service is still top notch and the lobby is elegant and impressive. But almost everything else was such a let down. I did fill out a survey and mentioned all of the above. I got an AI GENERATED email in response signed by Joyce Kendall. Why ask guests to fill out a survey if you're letting AI handle them? This was not the Omni Houston that I used to love. I hope that this was just an isolated bad day and not representative of a decline of the property.

Paul M was amazing!! He took me to the Galleria and picked me up and let me run into a Mexican restaurant to get my dinner to go. His customer service was exemplary. I highly recommend him and am thankful for his promptness and kindness during my stay at the Omni!!

In the Houston Galleria area this property stands out with an incredible experienced staff and the property is well maintained and spectacular..!

Stayed in Houston Texas two nights due to us cruising out of Galveston Texas on the carnival jubilee. Love the Omni hotel!

The hotel decor was nice. The grand entrance was aesthetically pleasing. The front desk staff were professional and pleasant. The restaurant staff were great and a highlight of the trip. The rooms were great and spacious and the beds were comfortable. Pretty high quality location.
