Outstanding service

We had a conference here and the service was outstanding in all areas. I would like to specifically call out Alma and Maria, in the restaurant, who were absolutely amazing!! Friendly, kind and attentive to every detail!

Sonesta's try at redemption

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

Due to something that went sideways (long story) I got enough points for a free night here. Of course, I took advantage of it when we went to Houston for some family related stuff! Although getting to a parking space was not signed well, check in went very well otherwise. We went off to the room, which was good except for having to deal with electrical outlets that were not laid out well. My date had a hard time finding a plug to connect a game console and I was glad I did not have to bring work along on this trip. Also, eight bucks for a bottled water in the room was a bit much. With that said, the menu at the bar showed lots of promise as it feature Oaxacan cuisine. I didn't have any, but the wine list was exemplary as was the bartender. I found the artwork that seemed inspired by Alice's Adventures in Wonderland interesting. My date found them to be a little kitschy. Overall, the service was good. I won't rate the value because it was a free stay. Would we stay here again. If the deal was good, Yes.

Personal and genuinely friendly service from Alma each morning for breakfast! She was the highlight of the stay at the Sonesta.

Terrific Staff!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 weeks ago

The entire staff at the Royal Sonesta worked very hard to get things right. They were successful at providing a wonderful stay. Particularly, Alma and the restaurant and Laura behind the bar were friendly and made my stay enjoyable, making suggestions on food and beverage choices that were very helpful. Then after I checked out, I got home and found I’d left in the item hanging in the closet, Dennis at the front desk kindly took my call and arrange to have lost and found returned my item free of charge. Thank you all.

Our Experience at The Royal Sonesta Hotel in the Houston Galleria

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 1 month ago

We attended the recent AA State Convention from August 15-17. Two of the elevators were not in order the whole time and we filled the hotel to capacity. There were constant lines. We ended up having to use the service elevator a few times! On a brighter note, Alma in dining room served us breakfast both mornings and lunch on another morning. She remembered what we liked for breakfast on the second morning and we very attentive! She represented the hotel well. Also, we loved the lights that came on automatically during the night if you got up. Fantastic safety feature! The beds were also great.
