Movenpick Asara Resort & Spa Hua Hin

We spent 10 wonderful days at Mövenpick Hua Hin as a family of five (2 adults and 3 children aged 7, 9, and 11), and it truly exceeded our expectations. Our private villa with its own pool, surrounded by a lush tropical garden, was the perfect retreat and gave us a real sense of privacy and relaxation. From the moment we arrived, every member of the team — reception, management, housekeeping, and restaurant staff — treated us with warmth, kindness, and professionalism. The service was consistently attentive and genuinely caring, a true 5-star experience that made us feel at home throughout our stay. The resort itself is simply beautiful: a stunning tropical garden, a large pool with breathtaking sea views, and a serene atmosphere that makes it very special. Dining was another highlight. Breakfast offered a rich variety of both Asian and European dishes, and the Kampu Restaurant served food of outstanding quality — fresh, authentic, and always delicious. Thailand has always felt like a second home to me, as my mother is Thai, so authenticity is something I truly value. Mövenpick Hua Hin managed to combine Swiss hospitality with genuine Thai warmth in a way that felt both luxurious and authentic. We left with wonderful memories, feeling completely comfortable and cared for. Our family is already looking forward to returning. The Movenpick Asara was a surprise package! It was my 1st time staying here...It's a beautiful, very green, very quiet property. We stayed in the 3 bedroom villa, which was perfect for the family... A gorgeous pool & spa...a restaurant that had a chocolate hour scheduled every evening at 4! Plenty of space to walk around if ur not in the mood to use the gym...breakfast spread was good, a-la-carte meals we're good too! The only draw back is that it's 30 mins away from the center, though there is a shuttle service. So be prepared to not want to venture out. Will definitely recommend this resort.

The hotel has a shady and peaceful atmosphere, making it perfect for relaxing. The staff are friendly and always smiling. The security guard is very helpful, and the Bellboy even remembers the room number, which is impressive (unfortunately, I can’t remember his name). Atchara, the reservation staff, was especially attentive and helpful throughout the process. This trip was to celebrate my husband's birthday, and she made sure everything was well-coordinated. The room was decorated beautifully and cutely, and there was even a birthday cake — which the kids really enjoyed and said was delicious! Peem from the FB team is always friendly and smiling, and Nan from the Front Office is the same — cheerful and eager to help. I also have a small suggestion: I’d recommend changing the sausage, as the taste is not very good and it looks quite unappetising. The iced cocoa is also quite bland and could use more flavor.

Our group consisted of two families, totalling nine people, and we booked the all-inclusive Luxury Escapes package—which we truly could not fault. We stayed in two Pool Villas and two Pool View Rooms, all of which were spacious and well-appointed. While the resort’s location is beautiful and serene, it’s worth noting that it’s about a 15-minute Grab (Uber) ride to central Hua Hin. These rides are inexpensive but can add up if used frequently, especially for a larger group. The resort does offer complimentary shuttle transport to the city four times a day, but due to high demand and our group’s size, we needed to book in advance—usually the day before. That said, the resort staff were exceptional. They were always accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. Special thanks to Chumpoo, Joey, Peem, Nook, Keng, and New—all of whom were incredibly friendly, responsive, and provided great recommendations for local experiences that allowed us to explore authentic Thai culture, especially when we found ourselves a little lost in translation. The on-site spa was also a highlight, with highly skilled masseuses delivering excellent massages tailored to each guest’s preferences. Although the swim-up bar is currently closed thanks to the COVID-era restrictions, we were told it may reopen next year—fingers crossed! The pools and rooms were immaculately clean and we appreciated the resort’s attention to detail, including fumigating the gardens three times a week in the evenings to minimise mosquitoes. Overall, the service was flawless, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. If we return to Hua Hin, we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. We highly recommend this resort to families looking for a quieter, more relaxed getaway in Thailand—whether travelling solo, as a couple, or with children.
