We had a generally pleasant stay at Mövenpick Asara Resort & Spa in Hua Hin and there were several things we appreciated during our visit. The resort has a calm, private, and relaxing atmosphere. It is located outside the main centre of Hua Hin, so it’s best suited to guests who prefer a quiet resort environment rather than being in the middle of town. There are not many restaurants or shops within easy walking distance. There is a 7-Eleven and laundry service nearby, but the road can be quite busy, so many guests prefer to take a taxi instead. The hotel grounds are beautiful and well maintained, with lovely views across the ocean. Our villa was spacious and fairly comfortable, and we enjoyed the peaceful outlook over the gardens and pool area. Guests who want to stay in the centre of town or have direct access to a walkable beach may prefer a different location. It’s also worth noting that the layout of the resort may not be ideal for guests with mobility issues or those using wheelchairs. STAFF The staff were consistently friendly, welcoming, and always smiling. They were helpful whenever we had questions or needed assistance, which added to the relaxed atmosphere of the resort. ACCOMMODATION Our villa was spacious and comfortable, with a lovely garden outlook. Some villas have two televisions (one in the bedroom and one in the living area), while ours had one. The television was not a smart TV, so there was no option to connect to streaming services such as YouTube or Netflix, which some travellers may expect. Mosquitoes were present around the villas due to the tropical garden setting. The resort sprays the garden areas weekly, however mosquitoes can still enter the villa through small gaps around the doors. Bringing personal insect repellent or spray may be helpful for guests who are sensitive to mosquito bites. We booked a villa with a private pool. The pool was cleaned daily, although because it is surrounded by trees, leaves tend to fall into it throughout the day. The water can also feel quite cool depending on the weather. There is a hotel shuttle service to the main town a few times each day, although it fills quickly so it’s best to book early. Taxis are easy to organise and typically cost around 200 baht each way to town. FOOD The food at the resort was generally good, and breakfast offered a reasonable selection for a resort of this size. The daily chocolate hour is a fun feature and is especially popular with families and children. It’s very sweet and mostly dessert-focused, so it’s something many guests may enjoy visiting once or twice during their stay. POOL & SEA The main pool area is pleasant, although it can get busy during peak times. Many guests reserve sun-beds early in the morning with towels, which sometimes makes it difficult to find a spot later in the day. Additional management of the sunbed area might help improve this experience for guests. There could also be more sun-beds and umbrellas available, as some of the existing ones are older. The resort overlooks the sea, however it does not have a traditional sandy beach that you can walk along. A concrete seawall protects the property from the ocean. There are steps that allow guests to enter the water, although getting out can be a little tricky. Overall, the resort is a pleasant place to stay if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing environment with spacious villas and friendly staff. Guests who value privacy and a peaceful setting outside the busy centre of Hua Hin may particularly enjoy their stay here.

Had a really great time here with my girlfriend! We spent two nights at the pool villa room and everything was superb. Room was clean and noise level was minimal. One of my favorite part was spending time at the beachfront. The sunrise there was truly so beautiful and calming. The hotel is super close to lots of 7-11s, massages, and night markets, def worth booking if you want to be located near many activities! Hoping to come back soon!

Spent 11 nights at the Movenpick staying in a Junior Suite Pool view King. Room was very spacious and fully met our needs. We booked through Luxury Escapes on a half board / drinks package, which worked well for us. Played golf at Springfield, Pineapple, Black Mountain and Palm Hills, which we very much enjoyed. Thank you to Hua Hin golf for organising. The staff were very pleasant and a particularly shout out to Sky who mixed our drinks and made our stay pleasurable. We used the Hotel shuttle bus on a couple of occasions, although a taxi only cost 200 bhat. Weather in Hua Hin in February is fantastic. Hotel fully met our needs and contributed to a great holiday. Thank you Movenpick.

Mövenpick Hua Hin is not a typical high-rise resort, but rather a spacious garden property with individual villas that offer privacy and a relaxed, almost residential atmosphere. With two inviting pools, lush greenery throughout the grounds, and generous outdoor space, it feels less like a hotel complex and more like a tranquil retreat. From the moment of arrival, the tone was warm and attentive. The team created a calm, welcoming atmosphere that continued throughout the stay. Small gestures — thoughtful treats in the villa, a spa voucher, and consistently friendly service — made a genuine difference. A particular highlight is the visible leadership on property. The Front Office Manager, Paul, is present, approachable and clearly invested in both guests and team. You can feel when a hotel is well led — and here, that feeling is tangible. The villas themselves are charming and set within beautiful gardens. The property carries a certain established character, and while some structural details would benefit from continued investment and refinement, the overall atmosphere and hospitality clearly define the experience. I have shared a few maintenance observations privately with management and am confident they will be addressed. I travel extensively and have stayed in many international luxury hotels. What makes this property stand out is not spectacle, but sincerity and leadership. Highly recommended for those seeking a relaxed, green and well-managed escape in Hua

We had a great stay at this beautiful oceanfront resort located close to HuaHin town. You can literally spend hours watching the waves and the open seas. The villas are comfortable and basically have everything you need. But all this would be meaningless if it wasn’t for the care and attention of the staff. In our case, we were lucky to have Khun Nook who got involved when we reported a small issue. She made sure it was addressed, we were well looked after and enjoyed what the resort has to offer. Thank you to Khun Nook and the rest of the front office staff as well as those on the beach bar and restaurant. Our stay was short but we look forward to being back.
