Went as family - had Globalist status. Location is good if you want to explore the beach - a bit of a drive if you want to get back on the freeway to explore other areas in Orange County/LA. Pros - Watertable was awesome! Food and outdoor seating was memorable. Cons - communication pre-arrival poor: did not respond to my emails until day of arrival - 4PM late checkout not offered - beach services not available during stay (was not told it was closed) Ended up leaving early since we couldn't get the late checkout.

Old rooms, no beach service during the winter. Crazy spa prices. Stay away during winter season. Fees are so many they are almost same as room per night.

We live about 20 minutes away and have always heard good things about this Hyatt Regency so decided to do a mini-staycation here after Christmas. The property didn't disappoint. Even with its size, the service was incredibly personable and the whole place had a family vacation vibe with families and many people with dogs. Itzel checked us in and took care of our family, recognizing our status and explaining the benefits clearly. When the suite she upgraded us to wasn't ready yet, she generously took care of our family while we waited and the suite ended up being ready within 15 minutes. We stayed in the Huntington Suite on the ground floor. It's one of the biggest suites we've ever stayed in. The ground location right off of the lobby was super convenient even though you could hear some more noise as people walked by. It's a tradeoff for convenience that works for us. We loved the Frette slippers in the room and the up to date charging conveniences by the bed. There's a large walk-in closet and another smaller one by the door although for our family of 6, an extra toilet would have been nice. We loved the breakfast for Globalists at the Watertable restaurant. You can choose between the breakfast buffet or $42/adult and $22/kid allowance to order from the menu. Also, I don't know how they make their chocolate milk here but it was really good. Our servers were Josh and Ricky for the two mornings and both were wonderful and continued the warm hospitality we've received during our stay. We weren't able to take advantage of the beach gears because it rained during our stay but they had various holiday activities for kids indoors that our kids really enjoyed. All the girls that worked there from the pool and recreation department were great - the free hot cocoa could use less water, our kids didn't finish any of theirs. The other standout feature of the property are all the pools. Again, because of the rain, we were only able to take advantage of the kids pool area on our last day before check out but our kids loved the water slides and the shallow pools including a hot tub for the kids. They have an adults only pool area but when you make a dedicated area for kids this fun, you don't have to worry about them going anywhere else. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and felt genuinely taken care of and valued. A couple other shout outs to Mike and Devyn in the front, both were warm and hospitable. I'm already thinking about when we can come back for another staycation.

One of the best Hyatt's I stay at (and I stay at a myriad of other Hyatt Hotels). Great with our dogs, rooms are clean, hotel is lovely and staff is top notch.

AVERAGE ON HOTEL AND STAFF. Yes, they provided a $50 in-store credit, which I was not made aware of at the time. They also offered complimentary valet, which I appreciated. However, given the dirty windows in a suite and other issues, I felt a credit applied directly to the room would have been more appropriate. Additionally, I was unable to check in early, was not given clear expectations regarding check-in, and ultimately received no accommodation on the room rate. I did ask to speak with a manager, but no resolution was offered. Considering I have stayed at this property three years in a row, I found the lack of consideration disappointing and unprofessional.
