Beautiful, Spotless Property with Great Beach Access

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

We stayed six nights and this is a wonderful property. The rooms are spacious and the resort is kept spotless. It is a huge hotel with several sections. Our room looked out over an attractive courtyard (with the entrance to the spa and fitness center). Other area have the adult pools, the kids area, the general pool, or the area off reception. We found that being off the courtyard was very quiet. Checking in was slow and the line was long. Valet parking, which was the only option, was also slow and is expensive (about $30/night). We were told there was no available self-park overnight parking in the area. We didn't research if that was true. The fitness area is very well equipped. The adult pools were nice and heated, but not hot tub temperature, and they are small (more like a hot tub, just not hot). The main pool got crowded over the weekend but some seating was still available. During the week it was not crowded and there was plenty of seating. Pool drink/food service was available and reasonable. There is a nice footbridge over the PCH to the beach. The beach is very nice with fire pits, a bike/walking path, and plenty of room. The hotel is a decent walk to the main part of Huntington Beach, and I'd say it is one of the least convenient hotels for location to the town and most restaurants. We don't mind the walk, so it wasn't an issue for us, but be aware it is about 15 minutes away. The hotel provides a good base for exploring the area like Newport Beach and Laguna Beach.

Huntington's Hyatt Regency was truly exceptional!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 4 days ago

Our stay at Huntington's Hyatt Regency was truly exceptional—we enjoyed every moment. We were genuinely sad when it came time to check out. The dining experience was a highlight: the Watertable Restaurant served some of the best food we've ever had. Every course, from appetizers and bread to the main dish and desserts, exceeded our expectations. We look forward to revisiting if we ever have the chance.

Beautiful resort with great beach access

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 5 days ago

Beautiful resort! This was a great 2-day stay, and would have been even better if we were just planning to stay at the resort the whole time Pros: -well maintained pool grounds, plenty of towels and chairs -guests were all very friendly and my 8 yo son made friends in the pool/slides each day -beach access is very easy, and they provide chairs -nice balconies -SoCal suite was very spacious! Watch-outs: -poolside service was a bit slow, an online ordering system would have been nice (and saved the poor waitress, though there were many people expediting) -waterslides were separate from the main pool. My husband wanted to hang in the main pool, and my son wanted to do waterslides, and there wasn't a good way to do both because they are in 2 totally different sections -parking. Self park closed at 9pm (which didn't work for us going to a baseball game) so then we had to rely on valet, which was well staffed but by nature just takes longer -Everything closes early. We came back from an Angels game after 9pm and wanted a drink, but everything was closed. I'm sure it's because everyone is at the pool all day and crash early, but that wasn't what we were there for. I'd still stay again!! Beautiful and relaxing resort

Our family would return!

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 6 days ago

This was our families first visit and everyone from adults, to teen, to toddler were comfortable, welcomed, and had a great time. The breakfast was fantastic. The convenience to the beach, pools, spa, and other restaurants is why we would absolutely return. The room was a bit dated and couch cushion had a rip but it didn't distract from our overall experience!

A must-visit in SoCal

TripAdvisor Traveler Review Rating Reviewed 2 weeks ago

This hotel exceeded our expectations. It is so family and kid friendly that it made a vacation with young children feel like a vacation for the parents. The pools were adequately and nicely heated for spring making it comfortable to swim in 68-70 degree weather. The grounds were exceptionally clean. Food was great as was service, though the service during breakfast in the mornings was slow. We'd heard rave reviews of breakfast and it did not disappoint in the least. Absolutely delicious!! As for the buffet, we were surprised there were no pancakes/waffles. We enjoyed the grounds, taking scenic walks, visiting the koi fish at least twice daily, and the kids enjoyed the special scavenger hunt they were given at check-out. what a fun and creative way to get to know the layout of the resort, take a walk, and provide entertainment for the kids! The on-site market was great! Lots of grab-and-go foods, various drinks, a coffee shop, fresh baked goods and hand-dipped ice creams! There is a game room which is very small and has a handful of arcade games, but it was still fun for the kids for a few minutes one night after dinner. The walkway to the beach was great and made for an easy stroll to the beach. We did use valet parking and found this to be probably the quickest and easiest valet service we've experienced recently. The hotel has 2 kiosks to request your vehicle or you can text a number on your ticket. We would text the number just before leaving our room and the car would be pulled up and waiting for us every time! Very impressive for such a busy resort. We loved our stay and would definitely love to return!
