Great facilities, great location, great restaurants, great service. What more can you ask for? Cheaper parking!! $60/night for parking is obnoxious. Otherwise, everything was great.

Smart hotel with good facilities but let down by slightly patchy service. We stayed here a for a few days the end of long holiday travelling around various US National Parks. The hotel is very smart and both the public areas and the rooms are well decorated and comfortable. The hotel is a short walk along the sea front from town as well so its not a bad location although our rooms at the Southern end of the hotel overlooked the large industrial plant which was not ideal. Pool areas were well maintained and well run and we never had any difficulties finding sun loungers which made a nice change. We ate in all the on site restaurants at different times during our stay and while the food was generally good the service was a bit patchy ranging from excellent to completely disinterested. While on the subject of service our check-in experience was pretty poor as well - unfriendly bordering on rude was not what we had expected. We also had some issues on check out over some erroneous valet parking charges (these have now been resolved).

We used a high-category free night award for our first stay at Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach. Globalist benefits were good. Was given a slightly upgraded room and a 1pm checkout. No club lounge but breakfast was decent. Staff at front desk, general staff throughout the resort, service at breakfast are all above-average for a US-based property. The hotel/resort is large (in a pleasant interesting way) but not overwhelming. Did not feel cramped. The pools are spread out so it may be a walk if your room is on the north side. The kids slide is small and only the really little ones will enjoy it. The walking bridge directly to the beach is convenient if you or family like the beach. Southern California beach waters are cold compared to more tropical-type locales but after several minutes can acclimate and then it's ok. Definitely do not expect Hawaii or Florida/Caribbean temperatures. Some comparisons that come to mind: HR Huntington Beach is easily superior to Grand Hyatt Indian Wells in Palm Springs in every way. Park Hyatt Aviara - similar category but not memorable and just plain boring. Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego - location is on-par (city access even though it's only San Diego, no comparable beach access), has a club lounge (decent), and sometimes good value for money/points. Grand Hyatt Seoul - better location (no beach, but wonderful hiking and city access), great club lounge, overall service and quality surpassing any US-based Hyatt I've visited, and so far the best value for money/points especially for Globalist. Hyatt Regency Waikiki has a better location (and better beach), but a more dated hotel, on-par service, has a club lounge, excellent value for money or points especially for Globalist. Hyatt Regency San Francisco Embarcadero has on par location (no beach, but good access to city an ferry), but no club lounge, overall not as nice as HR Huntington Beach but better value for money/points. HR Huntington Beach location and quality is a noticeable step above the nearby Hyatt Regency Newport Beach, but this is also reflected in the prices. Although higher quality, HR Huntington Beach was not good value for money or points. Summary: HR Huntington Beach was a good time and will be my go-to place for high-category Free Night awards.

Horrible customer service and was mislead by Guest of Honor privilege. They need to not mislead guests and also have a better understanding of their own guest of honor privileges
