Amfora, Hvar Grand Beach Resort

Beautiful and convenient location. It’s about a 5-10 min walk to the Hvar harbor. If you arrange for the hotel Porter to pick up your bags. You could technically walk to the hotel from the ferry. We did not make those arrangements and ended up taking a taxi which cost €30 for 6 people (2 trips for a single taxi ). They have an amazing breakfast which offers fresh made omelettes. Nice spread of your typical fruits spreads meats cheeses. Plus a yogurt station. It was an excellent variety. They offer a gorgeous pool Area, a gym (that we never used), with a couple restaurants on site as well. Right in front of the hotel is a public beach in which you can rent two basic loungers and an umbrella for €15. Just to the right is a secondary area that is not the public beach but does offer rentals of sunbed cabanas and umbrellas. The sunbeds were €30 each. The umbrella was €10 and the Cabana was €100. Those prices are for an all day use. If you choose not to stay, it’s still cost the same. This particular company partners with the restaurant that is right above it and you can order food or drinks all day long. A couple of the rooms had fantastic air conditioning, however, ours was struggling, but had some minimal AC. Our room was a superior double room with balcony and Seaview. The rooms are small but clean and functional. The refrigerator is available but tiny. The bathrooms are decent size but not large. And the beds are very firm so if you enjoy a firm mattress it will be fine. For those of you out there that have back issues. It is not the best option. I rated this a 3 because of the room size and bed primarily. The staff has been very nice, the food has been delicious and filling. The drinks have all been very good as well. One of the best parts of staying here, however is it proximity to the best gelato ever! Extremely refreshing and very natural lemon & Basil! My sister had Forest fruit (mountain berry) which was tasty and my niece devoured a light peanut butter which had delicious chunks. There are several other shops, of course in the harbor, including some small markets to be able to pick up foods or snacks, but the gelato is my absolute favorite and the most refreshing. I can’t recommend it highly enough! The location is directly on the boardwalk and is called “Amor Per Il Gilato”.

Our family had the most unforgettable holiday in Hvar, staying at the beautiful Amfora Hotel. It truly felt like a slice of paradise—especially for our kids, who spent hours every day enjoying the waterslide, splashing in the children’s pool, and playing with the water fountains. The location is ideal: the beach is just a two-minute walk away, and the newly built playground is only a three-minute stroll. The hotel also boasts what is, without a doubt, the best view in town. One of the highlights of our stay was the incredible service. My husband commented that he had never experienced such friendly, professional, and attentive service from hotel staff anywhere in the world. Every single team member we encountered made our stay exceptional. A special thank you to Maria, who manages breakfast—she welcomed us warmly each morning, helped with our kids, and made sure we were always well taken care of. Miladin brought us water and juice daily with a smile and lovely conversation, while Angela and the rest of the breakfast team were equally kind and helpful. The breakfast buffet was the best we’ve had at any hotel worldwide—something for everyone, fresh and delicious. And a special mention must go to Tonka, who made the most perfect omelets! We also loved the dinner buffet, which quickly became a family favorite—we dined there every evening. The variety and quality of food were outstanding, offering many tasty and healthy options. Children up to a certain age eat free, which was a wonderful bonus. Marko, the dinner manager and Sanja were always warm, welcoming and very helpful. Service throughout the hotel was consistently top-notch—from the Lobby Bar, Cascade Pool team, concierge and luggage service, to the reception staff—everyone was amazing. The food at the hotel restaurants was simply exquisite. Our room was spacious, stylish, and modern, with a breathtaking view. Even the hotel director took time to personally greet guests and ensure everything was perfect. That level of hospitality truly stood out. It was a privilege to be looked after by such a talented, passionate, and genuinely friendly team. We left with full hearts and wonderful memories. Highly recommended – Amfora is hands down the best place to stay in Hvar!

We had a very comfortable room with a balcony. There were plenty of sunbeds at any time of the day. The female conceirge was very helpful and booked us a wine tasting tour with a guide which was wonderful. Breakfast was very good but could be a little busy at time but helped by being split into two areas with an excellent selection of food. Also a short walk into town the evening to find a restaurant to eat.

Amazing hotel and would highly recommend. A short and flat 10 minute walk from the town and there is a luggage service from the port so you don’t have to pull any bags. Food and drinks were excellent, friendly staff and loads of sun beds any time of the day. Swim up bar and 2 minute walk to the beach was also a plus. Very relaxing stay and would highly recommend walking to the town on an evening or along to the beach bars

Recommend to not stay here. Tiny rooms , dirty rooms, large crowds, terrible service. If you traveling to beautiful Hvar don’t spoil it by staying at this hotel.
